Which one? Decisions, decisions...Kaboul's a bit all over the place for my liking. New French cap though. Resale value.
are these the names Iles was talking about?
Yes, that's cut and pasted. Happy about it. Better than Arsenal's 10-year-old or Citeh's not interested crew. However, I think Bassong is on too much wage wise and Kaboul will want to go back to France.
Then why are you happy about it?

I like the idea of either of them and will enjoy entertaining it in my mind for a week or so before the bubble inevitably bursts and the bitterness sets in. Hence the disclaimer is there to show I'm not entirely out out to lunch lala-land.
What could've happened; did.

On a side note kaboul would be a great addition for us not quite as sure about bassong but hell if we could get one and 12-15 mil that looks like a decent deal to me (^^)/

Chelsea to appoint the Porto manager later (£15m release fee! ) and 'take' Falcao there too.

Another striker at Chelsea to push Sturridge down the pecking order?

Bolton manager Owen Coyle is planning a £400,000 bid to his former club Burnley for full-back Tyrone Mears.

Would he really add to the squad? When Ricketts comes back he'll be our third choice right-back. It'd add to the squad about as much as signing a new left-winger or a new goalkeeper would.

If it was someone like Spector, I'd agree with you. I don't think he's very good, but I could see the logic in bringing him in on the cheap to cover a few places. Williams would be another like him, although for all I know he is very good.

Such is the problem with swapsies. However, Spurs' rumoured interest should help force other suitors to show their hands.

Ricketts may well also be our only "centre half cover" as it stands if Cahill leaves.

And Steinsson was pretty poor towards the end of last season and we could have done with an option to challenge for that place.

He's been pretty poor for nigh on three seasons, we should have replaced him when we got rid of Megson

We don't know the effects of Ricketts' injury either. Achilles injuries can damage his pace and he might not come back the player that he was, which was a pretty solid, versatile defender. Maybe Coyle might need to have backup for that?

Plus whilst he's our centre back cover (and imo probably a better option there than Knight) we only have steinsson, who we all seem to agree is not good enough. Lets not forget that for part of this season Robinson (who is 100% left sided) had to play as our right back too which suggests we need somebody else there.

Ricketts shat all over Steinsson when he played last season. Should he be fit, I fully expect him to start.

So maybe we should be looking at a new RB as opposed to Steinsson as back up..

Can we ban any talk of a player plus cash offer on the basis that there is a 0% (rounded down to the nearest tenth of a %) historical record of these deals actually going through
