The fact is Racism exists in every walk of life, and whilst I hope the image was not intended to represent a racist Charicature of SWP holding out a begging bowl. The fact is some people will see it that way and I am sure most coloured people would see it that way. We have come a long way from the world of B&B's seen by Ron Atkinson in Birmingham proclaiming 'No Niggers'. Britain and football is better of for it and the contribution to sport in UK by coloured athletes has been invaluble the view most BWFC supporters would endorse.

The fact is SWP has averaged 24 appearance per season in the last 10 premiership seasons, and only 36 appearance for his country, he needs to select the right club from which he be the star his potential always said he would be capable of being, not a squad player around more gifted individuals. This means he will have to ensure whoever he signs for is the right choice I suspect that rules out QPR and Wigan as both have a risk of relagation attached.

Personally i just think a private 'scuse me Bruce old chap, would you mind removing that picture as it offends me for reasons that are my own but so as not to cause friction, would you mind?' - to which Bruce being the nice fella that he is would have done it straight away under those circumstances, would have been the right approach.

I haven't seen the photo's to which you are referring. If I think they're blatently racist, I might well complain about them. Then again, I might not.

And secondly, as a direct response to your question, I would suspect that Seany Wrighto P-man would probably be offended by being represented as a golliwog. It has conotations far beyond a mere image.

I would suspect, though don't know before you ask, that Tuncay wouldn't be that offended to being compared to, in no particular order, a French Rugby International, Jesus Christ and other assorted shaggy haired human beings who look vaguely like him.

Surely its not too much to ask that your own actions don't have a direct negative influence on others? After all, theres plenty claiming to be pissed off by being told what they perhaps should and shouldn't do.

With confusion, seeing as the image IS NOT and DOES NOT look like Shaun Wright Phillips. Just as if you had a banner with a picture of a begging Roy Cropper and Gary Cahills name underneath. The two images are completely unrelated except for sex and race. No one would instantly think 'that's racist' unless their either a) really sensitive or b) really sad, which are you??

You can find undertones of racism/sexism/homophobia in everything if you try hard enough but that doesn't make the initial purpose of the image offensive, especially not enough to report the image for causing such offense.
