I think Eddie Davies got us into this mess and should simply feck-off. Should be thoroughly ashamed of himself.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Quantitative easing for the masses.

Like it.

I think it was a bit of naivety on the chairman and the owners part that we've found ourselves in this mess. We've not managed to flog Elmander and as such lost a lot of our transfer funds which would've otherwise gotten us out of the mess we find ourselves in. I'm not saying everything would've been hunky dory but at least we'd've managed to have a few more quid to spend on a striker as opposed to putting the money we got from selling Al-Habsi into our striker fund. Still i'm sure Eddie Davies and the board are weighing up what is needed to get us out of this mess. If they're willing to risk it that is.

Hopefully January 1st we'll have new signing or two to kick start us off early and fast. Otherwise last minute deals means we're without said signing for 4 games.

15 -18 million of our debt is down to him. Frightening really, for an alright, average player. Football is fooked if thats how it is.

No none of the debt is down to him. He's only worth what the market says he's worth. No one made the Club pay it to him. I'd also guess you'd need to net off the debt against an amount of revenue' to try and make some sort of comparison. Either way the big number isn't down to him.

I know that a man with your background knows exactly what I mean. Elmander represents the single biggest outlay this club has ever made. With absolutley no recouping of any of it. If "they" are to be believed (and I've no reason not to) ED was incredibly pissed off in the end by that piece of business.

And by the way, I'm not trying to exhonerate Coyle. He's shot his bolt, proved himself to be Championship. But theres shit-all chance I'm going to judge him by the same standards that the highest spending manager this club has ever seen should have had to have lived up to. Who was also a c*nt.

People are not 'championship' or 'premiership' life ain't like that. Players can be good at different levels at different times in their careers as can managers.....

I just think Coyle is not pragmatic enough for a club in our position with our resources. He's not street wise, savvy or battle hardened. That's the be all and end all of it.

He hasn't had the backing of Megson. So, whilst he's proved to be not that good, theres no way that a man who had the greatest backing this club has ever given anyone will be somehow also exhonerated.

Two managers have been legends in my lifetime, I realise it now. Bruce built the Reebok, Sam exploited it. No-one has come close to those two.

On balance, I'm now of a mind to reflect that the good times are coming to an end, but that we've had some times that some clubs of our stature will never experience. Thats thanks to ED, PG, SA, BR, CT and many others. What goes around comes around, but I first saw The Wanderers in the old 3rd, battling relegation to the 4th. Its not been so bad, on balance.

Forget who is manager for a minute, I think ou club needs us more than ever. Frightening. But true.

I don't disagree with what you're saying particularly, but the decision making wasn't Elmander's.

Presumably Garty/ED sanctioned the commitment we made and as savvy business men were aware of the commitment.

OC seemed to get him firing before Christmas (think Elmander said so in an interview). He then shunts him into MF for a loanee.

If I was Elmander, I'd have been pissed at that tbh.

On the two decent managers (and guessing that I'm probably a little older, I'd add Ian Greaves)

Indeed. As he said after the game yesterday (along the lines of, this is NOT a verbatim quote): "I've had seven years of success". Like many a happy-clappy, he doesn't know what to do in the real world when things turn against him. Shame, but there you go.
