How many points will it take to stay up?
We're almost half way through the season and I was wondering given our pathetic dribble of a season so far how many points will be required to stay up, I'm going for 33. I still believe we can do it but it's going to be very tough.

Theoretically 32. And we won't even nearly make it. Nor will Wigan or Blackburn. WORTHY ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What's the biggest ever gap between 17th and 18th?

the only thing we can cling onto this year is that, despite how dire we've been, we see QPR & Swansea seem to have ceased their early season joy, Wolves, Wiggin & Blackburn are (almost) as bad as us.
So we can still turn it round.
Not saying we will ... just that we can.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

QPR will buy in January as will Sunderland. Neither will be involved.
Suspect it's the current bottom three plus wolves.
I think 35 could be enough.
Not a season full of lower league quality....

Agree, don't think QPR and Sunderland will be involved.
Can see Swansea and Nowrich eventually being pulled in.
The scary thing is while we lose to Newcastle at home, Blackburn are drawing at Liverpool, Wolves drawing at Arsenal, and the week before Wigan drawing with Chelsea.
Games in which we got less than 0 from.
We should feel fortunate we've even a sniff of staying up, given the home games we've thrown away.

Well piss that, collectively. Lancs ftw.
QPR will be 'involved', Sunderland wont. Bottom three. Huge gap. Next three (Wolves QPR and Swansea). Huge gap. Everyone else.

Re: How many points will it take to stay up?
When we are playing ManU, Liverpool and the Arse, Wolves have Spurs (a), Villa (who hate them) and Liverpool. I don't think they'll be running away from us by too much. QPR have Villa and the Toon (both away) and home to Wigan, so only have one easy fixture. Too early to panic yet.
