Re: Will Ream be a Dream?
I was hoping he'd have a bit of pace as the idea of playing a high line with slow centre backs strikes me as madness. I imagine he wont get away with dwelling on the ball as easily in the premiership either. The bottom line is we wont be getting anything better than cahill with the money we have available which given the way the season is panning out is a bit depressing.Might yet see Ricketts in central defense if we have competent fir fullbacks available.

Re: Will Ream be a Dream?
we picked up a striker today whose salary is $250K/yr and just obtained the rights to a defender, Wilman Conde who is going to cost somewhere in the same price range
our management has said that if Ream is sold, they have a card in their back pocket and they'll use it if/when this deal goes through. we all believe that acquiring Conde (who is well known within MLS. one of the better defenders to play in this league the past 5 years) is their "card in the back pocket when the Ream deal is done"
all signs are pointing to a work permit being granted here in the States

Browsing the forums for NYRB, I noticed you also have an incompetent full back called Robinson. Fancy a swap?

Re: Will Ream be a Dream?
that's actual Carl Robinson. he's a DM/CM with chronic knee injuries and only played about 7 minutes for us last season at the ripe young age of 35. he's more or less a coach for us now, after spending most of his time in Europe last season while injured getting his UEFA coaching licenseshi there, i'm chris wrote:Browsing the forums for NYRB, I noticed you also have an incompetent full back called Robinson. even though he's probably an upgrade at LB to your Robinson, you don't want to spend your money on him

While training with Wanderers he has recorded faster times in fitness tests than any player Coyle has worked with at the Reebok .... though he has not played competitively since the MLS season ended in October.
“He’s had a few weeks off but he’s done all our fitness tests and has actually recorded the best times of anybody in 30-yard sprints or in the distance tests – and when you consider we’ve had the likes of Daniel Sturridge, who can run a little bit, it tells you the lad’s physical ability.”
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

Me too, usually I'd say I'd be worried that a centre half that hasn't played since October has better fitness levels than any of our squad, but then you look at our 'strike force' and Fat Frank could probably beat them all hands down in a bleep test.bobo the clown wrote:Very happy to read this bit ...Riviman wrote:From todays BN:
