I have a feeling Zaha will sign tomorrow we'll improve our bid to 7m and that will be enough, Coyle really wants this lad and i think he's worth that extra bit. I see this Ryo Miyaichi being another Kakuta too lightweight for the premiership at the moment. I can't believe Coyle said K.Davies is still a big part of his plans is he for real? i'll have Alan Nixon twitter page on day tomorrow at work, hopefully we'll not be disappointed

Can't disagree with anything there. His ratings of players are nonsense and talk of how we will finish top ten is laughable. But you know, he's the best source of info re our transfers going.giraffesarecool wrote:I agree with everything you've said, but the Palace quotes were fresh from 11am this morning (7pm if you live in Taipei like me.) Nixon did earlier in the day deny everything that the Palace co-chairman said, but then later revealed that our bid was rejected last night, which goes some way to suggest that the Palace quotes were legitimate, if not a little provocative.BWFC_Insane wrote:Nixon has said all day that the Palace quotes were out of date.giraffesarecool wrote:I've been reading that we've not really got any chance of getting Zaha, even if a fee was agreed then Zaha doesn't actually want to come to Bolton. This is what the snag has been apparently, and why it's been taking so long.
Following Nixon's tweets, he's been getting some poor information all day. Arguing with a Palace fan who suggested the deal was rejected, then he went very quiet on the subject before coming out with 'First bid rejected last night.' It's a shame he's had that information kept away from him, because he's spent half a day telling Bolton fans it's still moving along, when in fact it's just smashed into a reinforced concrete wall. He's usually well informed with what is occurring, but as soon as he goes quiet on a topic it means to say that something negative has happened.
From what I've read and been sent, I'm quite sure we've already given up on Zaha, and I wouldn't be too confident on Iturbe either - it's a very ambitious target which is nice, but I think it's going to be very difficult to agree, he's not at all keen on coming here and doesn't want to move again since he has only just settled in Porto. We are reported (Nixon hello) to have put all our efforts into Iturbe and Zaha, which was always going to be a risk, but could have been very rewarding, so I'm happy they had the balls to try it. There was of course no point fannying around targeting players that we know we could get, we've seen that too many
times before and it doesn't help the club at all. The signing of Le Toux can be finalised with a phone call, so we can leave that till the last minute if (please no) we sign no one else, he's had his medical during the trial and he's a French national so wouldn't need a work permit.
Ryo Miyaichi is pretty much done, but he's bench fodder. Weiss and Kakuta will have grins on their faces watching that one go through, yet another unsuspecting victim.
There's not much more to say other than there's probably a mystery player out there that we are targeting. We may still get Zaha and Iturbe but it's looking less and less likely with each passing second.
I'm also convinced that Alan Nixon has some alias Twitter accounts so that he can ask himself simple questions, and reply with a bit of wit and a bit of 'ITK.'
I don't think we will get Zaha either, but I don't believe the guff coming out of Palace either.
We bid, they didn't like it, but they were the ones who went public to try and get an auction going. They want to sell. So you just never know.
Things can move very quickly around deadline day. As Nixon keeps saying the info he gives out is already out of date thats the way things are I guess....
End of the day Nixon knows our targets from Coyle, and I'm sure gets updates of what's going on. But I'm sure that Owen is a bit busy to be filling him in every step of the way today and tomorrow. I also think Nixon has said all day that the initial bid wasn't accepted, he doesn't think it's dead.
To be honest if we could put 10M down he'd be ours no question. Palace would drive him here themselves, and the player wouldn't be stupid enough to turn it down. Just a question of whether they panic and take less...
Nixon knows far more than I know, and if he says there are 6 players we are currently in talks about then I'll take his word. However I have to take his rating of players with a pinch of salt, comments such as 'If you get 3 of the 6 then you will be in the top ten for a few years to come' come across as very exaggerated and trying to get people to read his column.
Personally I do not rate Zaha at all. He looks a lot like Victor Moses to me, who, although is having his best season yet with Wigan, still looks to have very limited player and looks a pretty stupid player. I've only seen Zaha twice in the FA Cup and about 5 or 6 times in the Championship, and sure he's usually looked a threat, but only because he charges at low quality defences and is given a lot of time on the ball. He's very selfish, and doesn't seem to be aware of movement or team mates. He has undoubted dribbling ability and pace though, and can take a man on, so who knows how he could transform his game with a bit of hard work, but he's not going to get straight into the first team. Not a chance.
He's now saying we are working on 7 possibilities..

"One loan is done. Two other possibles are loans. One target is cheap. Three others would be buys."
Right, so the loan that is supposedly done is Miyaichi.
The loans would be Iturbe + another (Jese from Madrid, maybe? This is just speculation on my part, based on absolutely nothing).
The cheap one would be Le Toux.
One of the buys would be Zaha, + 2 others.
Think I'm going to lie down.

I don't think Le Toux is being included in anything he mentioned, we are no longer in talks with Philadelphia with him and I really think that's a last resort to add competition (although that might be the old ball he was talking about)jmjhb wrote:"One loan is done. Miyaichi is done on a loan.
One of them is a current Premiership player, and I'm happy to agree with everything else. Dos Santos is definitely not happening though, so that's nice.
I'm more worried about Nixon's comments that we still haven't bid for some of these 7 players, that hardly fills me with confidence. Also you've got to think we'll get word on the Iturbe one quite soon, he needs to come in for a medical so we've got to conclude everything earlier to give him time to fly over.
Nothing is going to be concluded tonight anyway, so I really should sleep now but I'm pretty sure I'm addicted to Bolton transfer news. Got to be up in 4 hours and it's always such a depressing feeling when you wake up in the morning, rip your laptop open, frantically open skysports, twitter, the-wanderer, bbc to see who you've signed just to read 'Coyle chases Iturbe! lol.' It's the most infuriating and disappointing thing to wake up to. I fear tomorrow is going to be the biggest anti-climax for Bolton fans for a long time, but remember, we've experienced worse (hey Rasiak!)

Iturbe as a loan possibly would be ok without a medical.....been done before.giraffesarecool wrote:I don't think Le Toux is being included in anything he mentioned, we are no longer in talks with Philadelphia with him and I really think that's a last resort to add competition (although that might be the old ball he was talking about)jmjhb wrote:"One loan is done. I think you are too invested. Tomorrow won't be a let down because at this stage I don't expect anyone, new. If we get anyone it's a bonus now.

If Miyachi is one, the other two loans have to come from outside the prem, right? Unless we fook Boyata off sharpish.

We are after 3 players for cash and a few loans, from abroad. And you are right about the rules!Prufrock wrote:If Miyachi is one, the other two loans have to come from outside the prem, right? Unless we fook Boyata off sharpish.

The oracle said there would be a piece in the mirror about Iturbe. Zaha where would we get £7m from to buy him? Can see us landing GDS or Hoilett tomorrow. More likely GDS as he will see nobody in Spain wants him and finally agree. We simply can not afford Zaha. Personally I would rather see Hoilett or GDS in a Bolton shirt but would still be delighted with Zaha.
At this stage it's worrying that we can't land our first choices. Hopefully we don't end up with another Makakula/Rasiak.

God knows why, the lad isn't playing at Porto and would get plenty of game time with us. Could be down to the loan fee i guess.BWFC_Insane wrote:Iturbe sounds like one of the deals that has fallen through according to Nixons latest tweet!

Certainly seems that way now. Less than an hour ago we have 7 balls in the pot now we have 4! Our targets are dropping like flies.

How do you get to 4? We had 7 two dropped out, one of those was Iturbe leaving 5?courtliff_bwfc wrote:Certainly seems that way now. Less than an hour ago we have 7 balls in the pot now we have 4! Our targets are dropping like flies.
