Geordie in peace

Post by The Fish » Sun Apr 08, 2012 1:34 am

All right lads, just after a few opinions before the game on Monday. I'll be putting a selection of the answers on http://www.toontastic.net/board/topic/3 ... try1059269" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

While the football under Allardyce was derided as one dimensional long ball turgid shit, he never looked like he’d get you relegated. Do you miss the boring security the saggy faced oaf brought you?

Do you miss Gary Cahill? How has Tim Ream done so far?

How much have the injuries to Holden and Lee affected your season?

Do you think Adam Bogdan's fluorescent pink jersey goes well with his ginger hair?

How much of this season is down to the management team and how much is it due to the players?

What's a realistic aim for Bolton next season?

Where do Bolton need to strengthen to achieve this?

What has been your biggest frustration this season (can be performances, players, opposition, media, fans, anything)?

Which managers have impressed you this season?

Which Premier League Players have stood out?

Which are your danger men that we should be looking out for?

Which Newcastle players are you worried about?

Which have been your 2 stand out games this season? (One involving Bolton, one without)

Which away fans have impressed you the most/least?

What do you predict the score to be?

Also, I think I speak for all football fans when I say the way your club (and Owen Coyle in particular) have been dealing with Fabrice Muamba's awful situation is a real credit. I'm sure you've heard it numerous times but we all wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see him back in a Bolton shirt if at all possible.

Thanks in advance to any who answer and please don't get relegated as we'd much prefer to see the back of Wolves, Wigan and Villa or Blackburn. The former two because ther're nothing clubs and the latter because of their fans...

While the football under Allardyce was derided as one dimensional long ball turgid shit, he never looked like he’d get you relegated. Do you miss the boring security the saggy faced oaf brought you?

slagging off the manager you wankers unsettled then took from us only to be so narrowminded that you had him sacked within a season and you have the audacity to come to a bolton forum with a question like that get F$%k off

Do you miss Gary Cahill? How has Tim Ream done so far?

cahill was good ream is good cahill was england international though so was held in high esteem (dont miss the cahill leaving bolton saga though)

How much have the injuries to Holden and Lee affected your season?

its the main reason we are bottom half and fighting a relegation battle (take 2 best players from any team in the prem and replace with championship players see how well that team performs)

Do you think Adam Bogdan's fluorescent pink jersey goes well with his ginger hair?

goes better than it would with purple

How much of this season is down to the management team and how much is it due to the players?

20% management 70% players 10% fans

What's a realistic aim for Bolton next season?

if we survive this year midtable with cup run would be nice (id settle for that)

Where do Bolton need to strengthen to achieve this?

get cyl and holden back and playing and get a bit more solidity in cdm and lb

What has been your biggest frustration this season (can be performances, players, opposition, media, fans, anything)?

holden cyl injuries

Which managers have impressed you this season?

kenny dalgleish going from legend to hero to savior to villain in 1 season is amasing only a few managers could pull this off

Which Premier League Players have stood out?

rvp ba valencia (did you mean bolton players?) well as were at the bottom not many outstanding performances or consistency but miyiyachi has been good

Which are your danger men that we should be looking out for?

lofty the lion

Which Newcastle players are you worried about?

cisse ba arfa

Which have been your 2 stand out games this season? (One involving Bolton, one without)

stoke 5-0

Which away fans have impressed you the most/least?

most spurs, least stoke

What do you predict the score to be?

nufc 1 - 3 bwfc
were shite we know it but were gonna stay up and we probably will beat you as its one of those against all odds things that often happens in football

While the football under Allardyce was derided as one dimensional long ball turgid shit, he never looked like he’d get you relegated. Do you miss the boring security the saggy faced oaf brought you?
I miss his interviews on MOTD but I don't miss his shitty football.

Do you miss Gary Cahill? How has Tim Ream done so far?
Don't miss Cahill either, Tim Ream has come in and done an excellent job and now Coyle has finally realised Wheater is a million times better than that sack of shit Zat Knight, it's taken even more pressure off at centre half.

How much have the injuries to Holden and Lee affected your season?
A hell of a lot. I think Mark Davies has deputised for Holden quite well but we've missed Lee so much. We've had to endure the pain of seeing nancy boy powder puff Chris Eagles played there, and Ryo has hardly set the world alight (even though some Bolton fans seem to think he's the next Pele)

Do you think Adam Bogdan's fluorescent pink jersey goes well with his ginger hair?
I preferred his orange top, he looked more like a wotsit.

How much of this season is down to the management team and how much is it due to the players?
Bit of both. Some players don't look like they give a toss but some of the team selections have been baffling. Coyle has finally got it right with the 4-5-1 formation but he can't resist sticking a 4-4-2 in every now again and that's when we get cut open.

What's a realistic aim for Bolton next season?
I think with the return of Holden and Lee will be massive, people don't realise how important these two are to us and I think if we get a couple of new full backs and keep the injuries off, we can easily manage a mid table finish.

Where do Bolton need to strengthen to achieve this?
As above, fullbacks. Paul Robinson is the worst player of all time, to get skinned and outclassed by a Macclesfield Town winger just shows what level he's at. Marcos Alonso isn't far off either, made your old boy Damien Duff look like Slim Ronaldo yesterday.

What has been your biggest frustration this season (can be performances, players, opposition, media, fans, anything)?
Coyle's persistence in picking Darren Pratley and not putting Muamba in a 5-man midfield (obviously before the incident)

Which managers have impressed you this season?
Pardew - Got rid of the overpaid shit and every signing has been a huge success. Really envious of your side, Papiss Cisse looks a hell of a player.

Which Premier League Players have stood out?
As above, Cisse,

Which are your danger men that we should be looking out for?
Marcos Alonso is our biggest danger man, in that he's absolutely shocking and Ben Arfa is going to be creaming his pants playing on his wing.

Which Newcastle players are you worried about?
As above, Ben Arfa is going to tear Alonso a new arsehole.

Which have been your 2 stand out games this season? (One involving Bolton, one without)
Beating Stoke 5-0, perfect revenge for the semi final defeat. And Man United losing to Blackburn... FFS

Which away fans have impressed you the most/least?
Fulham - As I actually heard them for the first ever time when they scored yesterday.

What do you predict the score to be?

4-0 to you lot.

The "saggy faced oaf" happens to be a decent manager except in the eyes of "we are the real Baca" fools like you lot!

Do you miss Gary Cahill? How has Tim Ream done so far?
Yes and no to be fair, Ream looks a decent buy.

Cerise. It's cerise.

How many times .... ?

... and, personally, I blame this or our poor season, our injury list, poor Fab's illness and our terrible home form. Moreover, for the continuing crisis in Syria and the boat-race fiasco.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Sean Penn did not help either with his involvement in the Falklands dispute, turned a few heads did that and made them take their eyes off the game.

Do you miss Gary Cahill? How has Tim Ream done so far?

I think we miss his goals more than his defending as Ream seems to be a good buy.

How much have the injuries to Holden and Lee affected your season?

For me its the reasons why we are down fighting. Holden was the key to our success last season. Hence we have struggled since last april and have to play 5 in midfield to compensate.

Do you think Adam Bogdan's fluorescent pink jersey goes well with his ginger hair?

lol - anything to try and put Cisse off.

How much of this season is down to the management team and how much is it due to the players?

The players are to blame for me. Coyle hasn't helped at times but the players need to step up and be counted now.

What's a realistic aim for Bolton next season?

With Holden and CYL back we can finish top 10

Where do Bolton need to strengthen to achieve this?

Left back and a striker.

What has been your biggest frustration this season (can be performances, players, opposition, media, fans, anything)?

Players not performing, Wigan, Norwich and Fulham for examples.

Which managers have impressed you this season?

Paul Lambert at Norwich, average players all playing for each other.

Which Premier League Players have stood out?

Dempsey and Cabaye

Which are your danger men that we should be looking out for?

Ryo Miyaichi if he is not burnt out

Which Newcastle players are you worried about?

Cisse and Ba

Which have been your 2 stand out games this season? (One involving Bolton, one without)

Stoke at home 5-0
Man Utd 8-2 Arsenal

Which away fans have impressed you the most/least?

Most - Blackburn for the way they showed support for Muamba.
Least - Wigan (setting flares off and throwing them on the pitch)

What do you predict the score to be?

Hoping for a surprise win but with Ba and Cisse i think 3-0

Also, I think I speak for all football fans when I say the way your club (and Owen Coyle in particular) have been dealing with Fabrice Muamba's awful situation is a real credit. Do you miss Gary Cahill? How has Tim Ream done so far?
Very well excellent replacement.

Alot but we have a big enough squad.

While the football under Allardyce was derided as one dimensional long ball turgid shit, he never looked like he’d get you relegated. Do you miss the boring security the saggy faced oaf brought you?

Undoubtedly miss Big Sam but who can blame us. Times have moved on and his transfer policy that suited us so well has changed significantly. I wouldn't say t was boring security, those days were either relegation battles or battles for Europe/Promotion. Never dull.

Do you miss Gary Cahill? How has Tim Ream done so far?

Not really. Glad to see him going to a bigger club and us getting value for money on our signing. I figured his place in the squad and his iminent departure didn't help matters early on in the season but at the same time his goals helped.

How much have the injuries to Holden and Lee affected your season?

Its affected us massively. Not just Holden and Lee either. Sam Ricketts whose been great since coming back was a big blow, Muamba is a bigger loss than current form shows and we've had the likes of Tyrone Mears break a leg too. I don't think we'd be near the relegation zone if it wasn't for our injuries.

Do you think Adam Bogdan's fluorescent pink jersey goes well with his ginger hair?

Not really. You'll be seeing him in the favoured Orange jersey as is the case with most away games. Makes me wonder if we had a pink kit just so we could carry on using the Orange kit from last year.

How much of this season is down to the management team and how much is it due to the players?

50/50. Mental blows like the top 5 in the opening 7 fixtures was a big blow but its all about overcoming those issues.

What's a realistic aim for Bolton next season?

A good cup run. We've been doing alright in them and I can't see next season being any different regardless of the league position. Coyle had a good cup run with Burnley, and we've since seen a quarter final and semi final in the FA Cup so I think the cup suits him.

Where do Bolton need to strengthen to achieve this?

We don't need to strengthen to have a good cup run but to improve on this season. We're seemingly not far off the finished article. We need a good all round forward, we've had a lot of players up front who are good at just one thing (KD headers, NGog ?, Klasnic finishing) but no one thats really just stood out and been capable of doing more than one.

What has been your biggest frustration this season (can be performances, players, opposition, media, fans, anything)?

Not being able to compete with the top teams. We managed it plenty of times in the past but it just seems that since Megson took over its been one thing that the club just hasn't been able to over come. Best we've done in recent years is a one off win against Arsenal. I'm considering Newcastle to be right up there and I can't see us competing on Monday sadly.

Which managers have impressed you this season?

Brendan Rogers and Steve Kean. Steve Kean at handling his position brilliantly without turning against the fans and trying to steady the ship. Brendan Rogers for how he's got Swansea playing. First season syndrome though so his real test is next season.

Which Premier League Players have stood out?

Demba Ba. For standing out so much early in the season and then for disappearing at the signing of Papiss Cisse. Gylfi Sigurdsson is not far off though.

Which are your danger men that we should be looking out for?

Klasnic if he comes off the bench. Ricketts and Petrov. Mark Davies could run rings round your midfield providing he's up for the challenge.

Which Newcastle players are you worried about?

Papiss Cisse. Some of his finishes have been outstanding lately.

Which have been your 2 stand out games this season? (One involving Bolton, one without)

Getting revenge against Stoke 5-0 at the Reebok. United beating Arsenal 8-2 and losing to City 6-1. Okay thats three listed but WTF.

Which away fans have impressed you the most/least?

Blackburn for finally knowing what its like to be a Wanderer. Criticising Blackburn and chanting Bolton players names. Who'd've thunk it.

What do you predict the score to be?[/quote]

3-0. Newcastle taking their foot off the gas when 2-0 up.

Thanks to all, I've put a selection of your answers here, couldn't put them all so I've tried to get a balance.

Wish you well for the season (obviously after Monday ;) ) and I'm sure if any of you are making the trip up pop over to toontastic.net and they'll be happy to point you in the right direction for parking, grub and pubs that are away fan friendly. Mind you other than the Strawberry you'll find most pubs are friendly anyway.

You were the better side for 70 minutes and but for some top rate saves, a wondergoal and catching you on the break to the end, it could have been a lot different.

Odd how quiet St James' was given the crowd had a decent amount of time to get the beers in, but once it was plain after 20 minutes that this wasn't going to be the walk in the park that many (mainly you lot) predicted, you could feel the nerves set in.

2 or 3 times you dribbled into our box and could have scored.

Ba looked sluggish and his touch was unusually poor. I think he's just knackered, but it may be that he's off in the summer.

Any idea why Coyle was angry with the ref? I thought he was fairly balanced, missing a few on both sides?

anyway, cheers for the answers and good luck with the rest of the season

Yeah he was, and what was with Newcastle getting advantage played then taking a shot on and still getting the free kick?!
