If thy are near New England I'll have to go. But I am not flying to Florida again. Something tells me they'll hit up Texas for Holden.

Has it moved ?thebish wrote:aye!Gary the Enfield wrote:Portsmouth - Yay!
It's not so close to Enfield, Devon or Romford that warrants dancing a jig, or am I missing something ?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

It's doable on the train. About 1 hour out of London. So Yay!

for me it'd coincide with staying at my mams which is but a hop-skip-and-(indeed)-a jump away from Fratton park...
and as such - is a darn sight closer than Tranmere!!

Re: Pre-season friendlies
I note we aren't playing Newport again this time !!
I'm delighted to report that Tom Miller, the fckwit who broke CYL's leg in a fit of "I may be non-league, but I'm hard" was released in January, despite having started 23 league & cup games up to that point. It seems even Justin Edinburgh (!!) couldn't be doing with him.
David Holdsworth (!!) signed him for Lincoln City where he played 8 times.
Hopefully a short career of 'nearly, almost & could've been' which will ultimately end in crushing disappointment from which he will never really recover as he slides into a life of desperate poverty and alcoholism.
Otherwise, good luck to the lad.

Re: Pre-season friendlies
I was rather hoping that we'd do a couple of games up here but no.
St Johnstone was quite enjoyable.
Still time I suppose.

I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

That's a bit OTT. He might have just been a sunday league footballer looking to break into league football. After all there'll be a variety of different quality down there. I can understand it if he's actively come out of his way and said he tried to injury him ala Joey Barton but without knowing that it seems a bit OTT.

Re: Pre-season friendlies
He came up through Norwich juniors and was released but was picked up by Rangers. They let him go & he went to Dundalk for a season before joining Newport. He is known to have said that he was "an enforcer" and he has never made any public apology toward CY Lee and was rather boastful about it at the time.
So no, Mar, sorry. I think I was being rather restrained in the circumstances.

Re: Pre-season friendlies
Newport County's statement at the time wrote:"Tom, as most supporters would have seen, was visibly distraught after the challenge and actually asked Anthony if he could be removed from the field as soon as was possible.
The Bolton News wrote:NEWPORT midfielder Tom Miller has made a personal apology to Owen Coyle for the X-rated tackle that ended Chung-Yong Lee's season.
The former Norwich City youngster visited a light training session on Monday morning to talk with the Wanderers boss and members of his backroom staff.
It is thought he has also passed on a message of apology to Chung-Yong, who was due to leave the Royal Gwent Hospital yesterday and head back home to Bolton.
Let's not go all Arsene Wenger about it. Bad challenges happen.
