“I can’t begin to describe how unfortunate Marvin was,” Coyle said. “When he came in he was cup-tied and then with everything that happened at White Hart Lane, that put us behind with cup games again.

“I felt I couldn’t give him a run because he’d be coming back out of the team. It would have been too stop-start.
Let me get this straight. He couldn't play Sordell because as he was cup tied he'd have had to sit out the replayed cup tie at Spurs.

So basically he sat on the bench for half a season because he was cup tied and would have been "in and out" the team for 1 GAME.

Jesus, I've heard some utter shite in my time.....but I think thats the worst justification for a decision I've ever heard!

This is one of those instances where i really do hope there's more to it than this, because if thats the way his mind really works then its worrying to say the least.

This.

I couldnt belive it when i read that. If that is how OC works when it comes to player selection, then he hasn't got a fecking clue what he is doing

Some of the decisions that bloke makes are just bizarre

It was a bloody frustrating article to read, particularly as its not as if we had a stand out forward who justified selection week in week out.

What do you want him to come out and say?

That Sordell wasn't good enough in training to warrant a place despite our strikers not being able to hit a barn door?

He has his reasons and this is probably the best excuse he could give.

Not somethng that insults the intelligence of the fans would be nice.
Something along the lines of he didnt think he was quite ready...certainly not that pile of shit he came out with. At least saying the former, the player himself will think right ok well i'll prove it to you this season then.
But now...can you imagine Marv reading that and thinking 'whatttttt??'

You might just be onto something there.

Though its probably just because Coyle wanted to f*ck us over.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

indeed - it was the plan to deliberately relegate us - but he can't say that...

Don't be silly...we were relegated cos the dog ate his notes on the other teams.

Arrrrgggghhhhh frustraiting, sounds like he didn't do his research before signing marv... suddenly its like "oooops this boy isn't as good as what i saw on youtube".

Still hate him for bad decisions throughout last season and now its getting worst.
