It wouldn't shock me if Davies started alongside Holden though and he'd be in my XI.

What isn't in doubt though, is the fact we'll be playing 4-4-2 and Kevin Davies will be up front. There's no point even contemplating any other options, as they won't even be considered for at least half the season, no matter how we play.
Agreed...but I dont see 442 working all that well...and surely if its not working by october...?

Alonso LB.
Ricketts CB (or cover CB if Mills arrives)

Oh & Sordell will start more than he doesn't in my opinion

What happens if 4-4-2 is working by October?

Yeah, but then what happens if we carry on playing 4-4-2 and are shit for November and December, eh?

Coyles wrong!

Flexibilty is key...some games 451, some 442

if we struggle tactically for a few weeks change it!

same reason we should of addressed how we defend set peices last year. We werd not doing something right - sort it on the training ground.

4-4-2 working when you have better players than most teams will hardly be a shock. It's if we go back up and once again are totally overrun in midfield week after week that the issue arises.

I’m collecting some info on this seasons Championship, I was wondering if you guys could let me know the following :
- Your first choice XI Bogdan, Ricketts, Wheater, Ream, Alonso, CY Lee, M Davies, Holden (Andrews, if not), Petrov, Sordell, K Davies
- Who you would point out as the players to watch this season N'Gog if you're in the stand and between rows J and TT
- Where do you see your team finishing this season? Playoffs
I will come back in a few weeks to allow for new signings etc.
Cheers.

Barring injuries, the first 11 will be:

-----------Bogs------------
Mears--Ream--New--Ricketts
Lee---Holden--Keith---Petrov
-------Davies--Ngog---------

Maybe Knight may start but other than that I can't see anything other than that 11 to start off. I hope Sordell gets in the side though, seems more capable than Ngog.

If the Alonso thing works out and he plays decently, that leaves Rickets as a cenral defender
possibility along with Knight at least till Wheater returns. That should allow us the money for a another reserve keeper. With Eagles, ( Sordell, Davies N'gog choice up front, Knight, Rickets) M Davies, Mills, on the bench we shouldn't fare so badly. Then the squad players.

Big squad needed, they'll all get a decent amount of games this term. More league games and I wouldn't be surprised if Coyle fancies a cup run or two.

As for Owen, he was bobbins last year, but he's the perfect candidate for a side chasing promotion.

More excited about this season that I have been since our first in the PL :D
Troll and proud of it.

Alonso is shite, but if he is going to play, I'd have Ricketts at CB over Ream.

If it was our first first season in the PL, then we were relegated.

Apologies for the italics abuse there. Got a bit carried away.

See, I saw enough away at Blackburn last season for me to believe that there's a very decent left-back in there somewhere.
