Good luck for the season, here's to us sharing the two automatic promotion spots come May :pissed:
He's on loan isn't he? So if he's as inept as you say, he'll be re-joining you soon enough.

As for Leicester, is it just me who's wondering why the f**k you're favourites for promotion?
I dont know...BEN's reporting a permanent three year deal.

Would agree there's no guarantee that wage bill = success. There is however one hell of a correlation between success and wage-bill. :-)

Signed, and it's permanent on a three year deal. 2M fee apparently though officially 'undisclosed' as ever nowadays!

Didn't the whole saga hit a snag sometime last week? Probably something to do with us wanting a loan/leicester wanting a permanent deal. Like few have said I imagine it's a compromise at a million now and another load next year but football finances are really not my forte, tbh I don't have a feckin clue about em.

Wanderers land Leicester defender Mills

1:00pm Wednesday 4th July 2012 in Latest By Marc Iles

WANDERERS have confirmed the signing of Leicester City defender Matt Mills.

The Whites have not divulged the fee paid for the 25-year-old centre-half but it is understood to be around £2million.

A season-long loan had been agreed between the two clubs before the deal hit a snag just over a week ago. After further talks, the transfer has now been made a permanent one, with the former Reading and Doncaster man signing a three-year contract.

Mills was signed by Sven-Goran Eriksson from Reading last season in a deal that could have eventually been worth £5m. But after the former England boss left the King Power Stadium Mills quickly found himself out in the cold under Nigel Pearson.

He did not play for the Foxes during the last three months of last season and was ordered to train with the reserves. But Mills – who helped Reading into the play-off finals the season before last - is due to start a new chapter in his career by joining his new team-mates at Euxton tomorrow.

New 'on field' Captain ??

Surely to God (S)KD can't be a regular 90min man next year ??

Aye - though I believe one mistake Leicester made was making him captain straight away and he got a bit big for his boots. I'd give it Ricketts on that basis...be nice to have a few leaders.

Not in this league there isn't.

No correlation? I'd be very surprised at that. I have no idea of the figures, and am too apathetic to check, but surely West Ham would have had one of the higher wage bills of the league last year? And probably Reading.

QPR, certainly, the year before.

It isn't a guarantee of success, but spending a lot of money certainly helps. Which is why, as I've said over and over, football is completely pointless, and we may as well call it all off and just let each club count out their wads of cash. Award the trophies to those with the biggest pile. That way we can all stop wasting our time and so something enjoyable and useful instead.

Certainly not when Swansea were in it.

Their wage bill was a fraction of many others

If you think that there is a correlation between success and wage in this league then you're mistaken.

Just ask Hull, Ipswich, Middlesborough, QPR (took them 3 years to go up), West Ham (really struggled, should have walked the league, still successful I know but considering who got there ahead of them), Leicester and Forest.

And they are in the last 2/3 seasons alone.

Trust me, the correlation is between players who work hard for the side and who has a really good manager.

Just ask QPR, Swansea, Norwich, Southampton, Reading and Blackpool.

Anyway, isn't he a ginger? Is there any correlation between hair colour and success in gaining promotion? Come you stattos, do your worst.

There will always be the odd outliers. QPR's wages bill the season before last was about the same as ours.

You've had West Ham twice, Sunderland twice, Newcastle, West Brom twice, Wolves, QPR, Stoke and Wiggin - all of whom spent a few bob on the way.
