GK: Kevin Rose – Shortaresed shitouse.

RB: Peter Nicholson – was even shit when he played for Park Utd in the Bolton Combination!

CB: Gerard Cid – If you don’t have the ability to track a ball in flight or recognise the point at which it becomes available to you then you have no place on a football field.

CB: Djibril Diawara – MUST have been on drugs

LB: Barry Cowdrill – Loveable guy but a dreadful footballer.

RW: Jamie Pollock - Tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiimbeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

LW: Roger Walker - Ran like shit off a stick, just don't ever give him the ball. Wore Toblerones for boots.

CM: Simon Rudge – Bolton Wanderers – Hyde United – Postman.

CM: Paul Comstive – Twice scored directly from corners in the same game, but that’s not why we remember you though is it, Paul?

CF: David Reeves – Ran around a lot. Woo hoo. I know a dog that can do that. Sponsored by Banjo’s Cow’s Arse Flavour Crisps. The safest place to stand when he had the ball was in the middle of the net!

CF: Dean Holdsworth – Multi million Pound misser of sitters. I won’t mention Wembley… Doh!!

Subs:
Simon Farnworth - Couldn’t stop a cheque.
Emerson Thome – Only Brazilian on earth that’s shit at football.
John Ostemobor – Turned like the Queen Mary
Eric Snookes – To add to the comedy, he had bright red hair and looked like a Toby Jug.
May the bridges I burn light your way

maybe we didn't get the best out of him!!

he certainly moved on a lot...

1989–1995 South Melbourne 109 (40)
1996 Heidelberg United 14 (3)
1996–1997 Collingwood Warriors 20 (7)
1997 Bentleigh Greens 6 (2)
1997–1998 South Melbourne 26 (7)
1998–2000 Perth Glory 49 (25)
1999–2000 Bolton Wanderers 0 (0)
2000–2003 South Melbourne 48 (24)
2003 Heidelberg United 11 (11)
2003–2004 South Melbourne 25 (3)
2005 Heidelberg United 7 (1)
2005 Bulleen Zebras 12 (0)
2006–2007 Oakleigh Cannons 30 (5)
2009 Essendon United 3 (1)
2009 Malvern City 2 (0)

BUT - his record stands as 129 goals in 362 appearances - as a midfielder - which ain't that shabby!!!

Similarly, none of us can really say that Oscar Perez was crap. To be truly crap, you have to prove it over and over again.
Plenty in these lists though are ones who hardly played for us, for one reason or another.....

Bruce's is a good list. Always felt sorry for Pollock though, so not sure about him being there...

Yeah, I did quite like the bogey-licker. (Every local-rag pic of him on the ball, he had his tongue out and lolling upward toward his nose.)

Has anyone mentioned Makakula yet? He was absolute shite. Steve Howey has to get a spot at the back for me as well.

I'd forgotten about Makakula. Thanks for the reminder. Bastard.

Was just going to mention him. A few more I've not seen:

Martin Djetou
Akin Bulent
Salva Ballesta
Blessing Kaku

Didn't Dzemaili only play one half for us, against Sheff Utd in the Cup?

--------------------------Steve Banks------------------------
-Jon Otsemabor---Steve Howey---Gerald Cid----Marcos Alonso-
-----------------Darren Pratley----Mikel Alonso---------------
-Nicky Summerbee-----------------------------Johann Smith--
--------------Robbie Blake-------Chris Armstrong--------------

There is not a professional football club on earth that would lose to that side.

But Barry cowdrill and Jamie the Pollock were my heroes and Paul Comstive was a superstar back then and Reeves/Philly were a great pairing.....

I remember the excitement when we signed Cantello and Dave Clement, played ajax preseason.Ian Greaves plan for total football then Frankie left and that was that.....

Never understood why Cantello was so useless he looked good in that WBA team

On reflection, guys, you're absolutely right. Pollock was being played in a position that he hated but never used it as an excuse and got on with it. Maybe I should swap him for Hmmmm..... Dusan Nikolic.

we've been blessed with many - but I can't be arsed to mould them into anything resembling a team - I admire those who have gone that extra mile..

some - but not all (I think) of these have been mentioned...

(again - mostly recent-times - as in during my lifetime.)

in no particular order (and omitting those who have already been mentioned several times..)

Andy Todd
franck passi
O'Kane
Nishizawa
McAnespie
steven fulton
john gregory
Ba
Diawara
chris armstrong
isaiah wankin
diawara
oscar perez
fenepej (sp?)
ian moores
len cantello
Jemson
phil brown
delboy facey
ray deakin

now I'm depressed... :(
