Where Are They Now: The Eidur Gudjohnsen Edition

Post by Tals-biggest-fan » Wed Sep 05, 2012 1:17 am

training at the the new retirement home league... The MLS
Highly-caffeinated Seattle Sounders beat writer Jeremiah Oshan got confirmation from SSFC general manager Adrian Hanauer that former Chelsea, Barcelona, Tottenham, Monaco, Fulham, Stoke City, AEK Athens and [insert 10 more clubs here] attacker Eidur Gudjohnsen will be training with the team this week. No promises made beyond that yet.

Read all about it at Sounder at Heart. Or if you prefer the pure, untainted original, I hope your Icelandic's good.

Not what we need in Seattle. We can score goals but keeping them out is a different matter.

No idea what his wage demands would be, but I've heard worse that ideas. Could turn out to be Coyle's saviour, or indeed end up getting him the sack if it went tits up.

Good luck wherever you end up, Eidur.

If he couldn't make it at Stoke he'd be no use to us. I'd just like him back because I'm a fanboy.

I'm led to believe that Bet Fred and a number of North West casino's are currently working on a petition to be sent to Garty requesting his immediate return. I don't think we could afford the signing on fee he'd need to clear his debts. Allegedly.

We have a number of delightful Tribal casinos here in Seattle, it's going to be a tough battle for his signature.

Given the salary cap situation in Seattle I'd estimate we can't afford to pay him more than $200,000 a year.

Yes, you can have up to three designated players, but we already have three.

Eidur is not the answer. Great player of our past, but not for our future. We need to get the players we have doing their jobs starting with the defence.

I'm just pissed off that we're lumped in with <insert 10 other clubs here>.

We saved his f*cking career for crying out loud!!

What I was thinking LK! Stoke and fecking AEK get mentioned....

Maybe they've mixed him up with Joe Butler.
