I put £10 on appleton a few moments ago and the price changed from 10-1 to 7-1 so maybe that in itself tells a story?

8/1 on skybet. McCarthy shortest odds....still!Prufrock wrote:I signed into my old bet365 account I don't think I've used since THAT game at Wembley (maybe it's my fault!). Still had £8 in there. Result. Stuck it on Appleton. No pressure Boris. Only got 10s, but it's money I didn't no I had anyway, so we'll see what happens.

tens is the biggest odds you'll get now.
McCarthy still clear favourite, though.

As Di Canio said himself the Bookmakers set the favorite based on the amount of money bet not what the club have suggested.

Today's BN has Super John heading back here to live after quitting his job in the States. Ivan Campo has also Tweeted, apparently, that if P.G. calls him he's willing to come back and help his "family". The Clans are gathering.

IF that really is Campo's twitter, then surely anyone who has read it, and would want to give him any senior job, would be completely mental.

Well, there's always a chance he might be able to teach a few how to actually pass a ball.BWFC_Insane wrote:IF that really is Campo's twitter, then surely anyone who has read it, and would want to give him any senior job, would be completely mental.

Appleton not heard anything, so he claims here. Seems a bit cagey.

I'd take him up on it, not to manage the team, but coach and help the cause.TANGODANCER wrote:Today's BN has Super John heading back here to live after quitting his job in the States. Campo clearly loved his time at the Reebok, so why not take him up on his offer? He could teach our current lot a fair bit...
And if Phil isn't getting Super John on t'phone for a similar reason he'd better soon...
Jiminho, LSL, Campo, Friggin' Super John, how about getting Jay-Jay, Hierro, Youri etc in as well. Try and capture some of our 'heyday' by working with the guys who made it happen!

Lets not go too harsh on Campo, his message is in better English than the majority of us could manage in Spanish.

Re: Now he's gone, who's next?
Super John's been back a lot recently. He's presumably got something lined up, maybe with us.
I'd like Campo to have some kind of involvement with the team. Not sure that'd be possible under Coyle what with him not being a personal friend. That's the problem with young-ish stubborn managers. This Appleton sounds like it'd be more of the same from a personality viewpoint. I'd rather have someone who's comfortable with themselves enough to have knowledgeable people come in and improve their setup. That kind of person feels to me like a more experienced manager. Pulis, Moyes have brought experienced ex-managers in to help. Maybe Mick would do the same!? With Mick not having a job he'd certainly be cheap enough to get then maybe we'd be able to afford the services of someone else. Dunno.

The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

Aye, but that looks like the equivalent of the B(E)N. So your going off the basis of Portsmouth's equivalent of the people who post on the Bolton News comments section...ohjimmyjimmy wrote:Understatement of the century.BWFC_Insane wrote:http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompe ... -1-4358794

Some sports journo at the Beeb is tweeting that OGS has pulled out of a speaking appointment at the same place Fab Muamba / Ronaldo were at yesterday.....
