Ooooh, you know ..... the guy Coyle 'rested' and then hardly played again .... & then once he recovered from injury played a couple of times in failed cameo's ... & then, this season had him on the bench.Sponge wrote:Who?CAPSLOCK wrote:Exhibit A - LCY
THAT CYL. !!
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Should have him fit enough to pass his medical in the January transfer window...
Are we in League 2 yet - Three seasons and we'll be away to Chesham

See, normally I'd be inclined to agree but the stats for Holden are just ridiculous.Gail Platz wrote:Is he going to make a blind bit of difference to our side? Am I the only one that thinks that having him back won't really change anything? Bolton fans talk as if we're getting Lionel Messi out there.
Yes he's a good player don't get me wrong, but the big problem lies in defence rather than in midfield and attack. Yes we've got Keith Andrews in that position at the moment who is awful, but we were like this when Lee came back and he's been benched. I can see the same thing happening with Holden.
He's had two periods of injury with us, one short, one long.
For both, we went to absolute shit immediately after losing him, and the first time he returned, we climbed straight back up the league.
Not saying it's definitely going to be that way this time, but it's not just about his own personal ability- he held that whole team together.
Even if he's lost what he had, I think just having him back will be great for morale, in the stands and on the training ground

Re: Cometh the hour. Cometh the Holden
as much as id like to see holden back to how he was before his injury troubles i realise we wont be that lucky sadly,
my prediction
comes back next week
2 weeks / maybye a month then the reserves
december hes in 1st team
2 games later he has a niggling injury ( something serious and totally different from his knee)
rested for a month
back in 1st team
knee goes again hes back in the usa
we dont offer him a new contract
he signs for burnley as owen coyles 1st summer signing
he comes back to bolton and plays possessed motm performance / we all wonder if we should have kept coyle longer
realise were just truly doomed
btw no idea whatsoever who we need as the new manager but if hes a pansie like owen or lets say delusional defencivly were utterly boned either way.
heres hoping morinho fancies a real challenge ^^(is it sad that i made myself laugh and be sad at the same time writing this?)
going for first time this season ^^ at weekend heres hoping we have it in us as a team to pull through after all ^^

Cheerleading again. That'd be good.

Re: Cometh the hour. Cometh the Holden
....reading the rest of his feed, it looks likes he's finished with his rehab state-side, and will be back for good. It's anyone's guess as to how long before he's match-fit, though.
Re: Cometh the hour. Cometh the Holden
Looking at some of his You Tube video's he has been working very hard on his fitness. It is not as though he is a stone overweight and he is starting a pre-season type training regime.seattle_wanderer wrote:....reading the rest of his feed, it looks likes he's finished with his rehab state-side, and will be back for good. If his knee is 100% perfect he would probably be on the bench for the Wolves game. But he probably hasn't been kicking a ball for very long so he may still be recovering for the injury. Hopefully we won't rush him back and risk the injury flaring back up but how we need a fully fit and healthy Stu at the moment.

Wolves?! As in, on Tuesday? Expecting him back on the bench for the home game in April is less pessimistic than that is optimistic!

Re: Cometh the hour. Cometh the Holden
Give him two games with this development squad with 30 and 45 minute run outs in each and then start giving him 20/30 minute runs outs with the first team from the Cardiff game and then I'd say the Blackburn game he makes his first full start baring nothing goes wrong.

I wasn't predicting he would be on the bench. I said IF his knee was 100% he PROBABLY would be on the bench intimating that he will be fit but not match fit. I then said he is probably still recovering from the injury. FFS

Re: Cometh the hour. Cometh the Holden
We've just got to see what happens... he can't be in bad overall shape given the training he's been doing, but that's not quite the same as being match fit. I just want to see him back in regular training with the 1st team, have a few development-squad games and just get playing time under his belt before re-introducing him into the 1st team proper.
Can't wait to have him back though...

Re: Cometh the hour. Cometh the Holden
Because putting Stu back in just gives us another reason to keep Andrews/Pratley etc. out!thebish wrote:danardif1 wrote:We've just got to see what happens... he can't be in bad overall shape given the training he's been doing, but that's not quite the same as being match fit.
