The sort of pre-match positivity has returned that I used to feel in the first few months after Coyle came in. Relieved to get away from Megson, now relieved to get away from Coyle.

First match I ever went to was Bristol City at home, lost 2-0 Wayne Allison scored both I think. Wasnt the most inspiring start to my match-going days. 50p in Great Lever End with Junior Whites!

Could have Eagles on the wing with Mavies in the hole and someone else alongside Spearing.
i love the way coyle going makes people believe that playing eagles mavis and petrov together will work. Might do against a poor team but against a decent team seems dodgy.
Not sure how long it wil take ream to build enough confidence to play ch again either.

If we do play one up top it should be NGog IMO because he is mobile and can hold the ball/draw fouls. No he wont score....
Play eagles behind him. Andrews and Spearing in midfield. Would love to see cyl back but not so sure re petrov. Not because I dont think he will perform well going forward. Just not sure who will attack his crosses or whether he will contribute when we dont have the ball.

So for me
Riley Ricketts Knight Warnock
CYL Spearing Andrews Alonso/Petrov?
Eagles
NGog
Could most likely get away with playing Petrov at home to Bristol I suspect.

Not sure what to expect from the new shortterm managers.
442 with KD and NGog up top would not be a surprise.Given the opposition it may be perfectly adequate aswell.

Would like.

Shaggy
Riley - Ricketts - Knight - Warnock
Eagles - Spearing - Andrews - Petrov
Davies/Ngog - Sordell

Will be:

Shaggy
Mears - Mills - Knight - Warnock
Mavies - Spearing - Andrews - Eagles
KD - Ngog

I agree with the previous post. Coyle going will no doubt change nothing with the team selection.

Well, I was basing it on our most successful line up in terms of results and performances which was around January last year. I believe Eagles, Petrov and Mavies were all in that side. We are without NRC and Muamba and Wheater, but have CYL available, so I've accounted for that. So it has worked before.

Was that the first home game of the 94/95 season?

Pri are you doing any of the games next week?
Do you mean me :D?

Nope unfortunately. I'm in London for the Wolves game and can't afford the Boro game at the mo, which is a shame, because I was I supposed to be going with my Boro supporting mate.

rumors going on twitter that there's going to be a squad shake up today... hoping players like Riley and Wylde get a run.

First game post O.C. Not sure really what to expect. If we get the ball in the net and three points much will be forgotten and forgiven. That's football.

Aye that's the one. Didn't go regular that season and kept ending up at rubbish games, 1-1 with Portsmouth, a boring win against notts county. Then found myself at the 5-1 against wolves and that's where it all started for me!

Be nice if we could keep some balls out of our net too...

Official team from club Twitter.

BWFC: Bogdan, Mears, Mills, Ream, Warnock, Eagles, M Davies, Spearing, Petrov, K Davies, Afobe

Blimey o'reilly. Knight injured? He's not on the bench. Ngog is, but Sordell isn't...

:pissed:

I'd seen three home games at the end of the season before, my first being a 4-1 humping of Middlesboro. The Bristol City game was the first game I saw live that we lost.

Bloody Wayne Allison.

Bolton Boys 4 The Academy of Football 0

Keep the good news coming!

Hmmmmmm, just seen the lineup...

Ah, well, earlier in the week I dreamt we won 3-1 (late consolation for Brissle City), so fingers crossed.

I'm really not sure we should be playing loan signings at the expense of our contracted players.

No Knight, and starting Afobe... Interesting... Is Sordell really that bad?

I feel sorry for the amount of covering Jay Spearing is going to have to do.

Sordell could be injured, we don't know. As could Knight be. Was surprised to see him axed.

He played midweek in Serbia so after all that went on there maybe they thought it best to rest him.

Or not.
