Re: Campo open letter to BWFC fans 2012
Brings a tear to the old eyes that, Was so sad the way he left us. Would love him back at the club in any way, Shape or form. Considering who he has played for and the way he talks about us, To read such sentiment about our club is fantastic, He should just get on a plane and knock on the door. What's he got to lose? Still refers to Bolton as "We". Come home Campo!!
It ain't easy, Sleazy even, Deceiving those we, Believe in.

Love that goal. Watched the game at a Spuds bar. Ha. Feckers. Really was shameful the way he left. Legend. The Berlin Bear wrote:Agreedanardif1 wrote:Sending me crazy in the stands at the 'Bok! If it doesn't make the hairs stand up, you're not a fan.
I'd take Ivan back to Bolton in a heartbeat, he clearly wants to help and his experience and skill would be great for coaching right the way through the club, from the youth teams up to the 1st team squad...

Even if he's not great tactically or he can't teach young players skills, he should still be a good person to have around, as an advisor or something like that. It doesn't have to be a senior role, just have him around the squad. I'm sure he'd bring a positive effect with him.

For Ivan I would step down gracefully.Ianmooreslovechild wrote:Would be a great mascot, no need for a suit. If it's a real letter from the man then bless him. But the letter should be written to Gartside & Eddie D.
... & the BEN would find a return ticket to Bilbao, for a reporter money very well spent.
I would pass my shirt to him & believe myself blessed.

Just me who thinks it would be utterly pointless?! He's a great guy and I'd gave his babies, but what exactly is this 'experience' he'd bring with him?

no, was thinking the same; he's probably my all time favourite player, but wtf would he offer the club today? the blokes just touting for work, hes using his affiliation with bwfc fans to put pressure on the club to find him somthing to do. he'll be wanting a grand or two a week for whatever it is too.
make him Kitman!?

Don't they have meet and greets with the la-di-da's in the Platinum suites General?

I miss that guy! So many characters during that period and he was my favourite with all his gesticulations. We don't seem to have them at the club anymore.
I don't know what value he'd bring if he were to come here. But his affection for the club seems genuine even though he has gone about it in a rather strange way.

aye - he was a character - and lovable...Dr.Karl wrote:I miss that guy! So many characters during that period and he was my favourite with all his gesticulations. We don't seem to have them at the club anymore.

but, as far as i am concerned - that doesn't translate into having a role at the club now - even if we did have a role that was primarily about gesticulating!
it's great to have players like that - even if it only promotes some kind of crowd unity in the wearing of campo wigs...

No. I don't get it either. But then I don't get the clamour for Jimmy Phillips to be given the manager's job either.boltonboris wrote:Just me who thinks it would be utterly pointless?! He's a great guy and I'd gave his babies, but what exactly is this 'experience' he'd bring with him?
We have a strange set of fans at Bolton.
On the one hand the scream for Gartside to "look beyond the usual managerial suspects" and "be inventive" and "look abroad for unheard of names", but on the other they just want any old bloke with a connection to Bolton to be given jobs they simply aren't qualified for.
Its all a bit "Newcastle-esque".
