Premier league you're having a laugh

Post by Ianmooreslovechild » Sun Oct 28, 2012 8:45 am

Ok so we have a new manager and various folk bemoaning his inexperience and previous inability to win the champions league or turn water into wine/heal the sick etc. Meanwhile super owen coyle is telling everyone how lucky the next man is to inherit our amazing premier league squad and stroll to promotion making hay on the back of all of Owen's dilligent team building and astute scouting.
So realistically who do we currently have that would walk into a midtable prem side?
I'm not sure there are any!

As a follow up who do you expect to be here at that start of next season? Unless Freedman has exceptional man management skills and can lift/ motivate I think there could be 10 plus on their way on frees before the start of next season.

Time for a big thumbs and thanks to Owen I reckon

Mark Davies, Chungy, N'gog, Eagles, Sordell and Petrov will probably not be here for next season

Let me guess. If Freedman manages to turn this around, you'll be praising him to the hilt. If he doesn't, it will be down to the previous managers signings. Either way it will all be Coyle's fault. #Tedious.

Damn it BL3 you saw through my cunning ruse. He's a witch and I'll have him burnt innocent or otherwise because I hate owen coyle and I've been desperate to see him sacked since before he even arrived.

At best what will happen is that some of these might turn their form around and some will turn out to be duds.It is coyle's fault that they are here because he signed them and ultimatately it was coyles fault that they werent performing for him. Apart from that you have to say he did a bang up job.(yes I know he didnt have vast pots of cash and it was difficult circumstances.....)
So yes if they fail they are coyles bad signings and if they succeed then it's down to better management.
Spotters badge to BL3

You're spot on of course BL3. Any success achieved by Freedman will be down to the solid foundations and exceptional signings/squad put together by coyle. If he fails it just shows that Freedman is clueless as everything needed for success is already in place.

It's nice to know Owen wont get lonely in his parallel universe

You said "I've been desperate to see him sacked since before he even arrived"

Why? that statement i find hard to believe

I'm glad he's gone now he did't learn from his mistakes but right up till the semi final it was going good

First half of the second season Coyle gave me some cracking memories beating Newcastle 5-1 Elmander ripping them a new one

When we drew with Utd 2-2 it was the performance that really impressed me, Elmander bullying Vidic Petrov ripping there full back apart and we dominated that game i'll probably never see us dominate Utd like that again

Wolves game where Elmander scored that cracker

And i will always will thank him for bringing in Sturridge shame he's sat on the bench at Chelsea
Never get into an argument with an idiot. i'll bring you down to my level and beat you with experience

As Truewhite noticed I was trying to be ironic. Not always wise I realise and not the first time I've been taken literally when not intending to be.

Fact is I always wanted coyle to succeed and felt the board having backed him over the summer he should have been given the 10 games he was given. I was a bit hacked off at BL3 jumping in and making out this was another coyle kicking thread.I've been more annoyed by coyle'statements since he left than I was by anything he said while he was here.

The point of the thread was to show the apparent contradiction amongst fans that we have this outstanding squad of players who we keep complaining about for being rubbish! On current form only eagles and maybe spearing are anywhere near premier league standard and that is questionable. I just find it odd that people kept saying we should walk this division with these players when infact we have no goalscorer, not much defensive quality in midfield and a defence that concedes 2 per game.

Addressing what BL3 said seriously he's right. Freedman will either make a success of players coyle failed to make a success of or they will be someone else's signings who get moved on having not made the grade.
Coyle certainly never made the most of them. So initially freedman is in a win win situation because he cant really do much worse than coyle was with what is available.Whether what is available is good enough to get in the playoffs I really dont know. On current form obviously not!
