Re: Tractor Boys - the Barry Knight Testimonial Match
Ngog has never had a good game as a strike partner to KD. I really think he's only any use up top in a 451.With the immense quality of our available strikers 451 is the only way and maybe it is time to let eagles play behind the froint man as he has been our most likely source of goals this season. Certainly when Butterfield goes thats who I'd like to see there.

And I hope we can send Spearing back in January. He's just not very good!

Don't worry, the usual suspects will find a few...SmokinFrazier wrote:Dreadful. There is no excuse for this kind of result. Ipswich are poor and we are at home.
We would have lost by more under Coyle
Players aren't good enough
Dougie's trying things out
Still unbeaten...oh hang on

Why do think that might be Einstein?Ianmooreslovechild wrote:It's not so much a case of it being a bad squad it's just there seems to be a complete lack of consistency from our better players

Re: Tractor Boys - the Barry Knight Testimonial Match
KD or N'gog. Not both. Afobe obviously isn't the firepower off the bench . Five in midfield, Chungy wide Eagles either wide left or in the hole when Petrov plays. Quality players or no, nobody fears us and we're never scoring more than two, when we even do that, and can't defend a lead. Way it sounded we had nothing down the right side. Hope tinkerman learned something from today, but it sounded all wrong. I'll be corrected by those at the game.

We can't play itArmchair Wanderer wrote:Ipswich are near the bottom. If we can't play 4-4-2 at home against them then we can't play it!Lost Leopard Spot wrote:He's not going 4-4-2, Shirley to God.?
If N'gog is on the wing then it looks much wider, if not it looks very narrow. How have we been doing cross-wise this season?
Those of us who watch us know we can't play it
Todays outcome was so predictable
Why weaken the midfield just to play 2 non scoring strikers?

Dunno what to say. Three points thrown.
What are we, back in 18th? Two steps forward, three back.
Still. At least he's not Coyle.

I don't know... Coyle might have been able to beat Ipswich...CrazyHorse wrote:Dunno what to say. Three points thrown.

Not saying Dougie out, not yet. But for fecks sake throwing away three points at home to a bottom three team... It doesn't take a statistical Einstein to figure out our defense needs a shit load of work. Dougies first job should have been to sort that lot out, and he hasn't.

The defence isn't the fcuking problem

Correct. The manager is. Would we still be 17th with Mick McCarthy in charge?CAPSLOCK wrote:Another one missing the glaringly obviouscecil.bob wrote:I don't know... Coyle might have been able to beat Ipswich...CrazyHorse wrote:Dunno what to say. Three points thrown.

Progress. We're only 10 points from the play offs. And we were 17th when he took over. He's still unbeaten and we'd have lost that under Coyle.

Think you're talking bollocks.
Ipswich stole the points, thought the were poor.....thems the breaks though sometimes.

Andrews is fine as the holding player and mops up pretty well.
Spearing is ok there, but I prefer Andrews in that role and Spearings passing is all over the shop. Literally.

Because they are the same inconsistent players we've had for the last two years would be my guess. Or am I overthinking this.BL3 wrote:Why do think that might be Einstein?Ianmooreslovechild wrote:It's not so much a case of it being a bad squad it's just there seems to be a complete lack of consistency from our better players
Maybe that's too bleeding obvious for a genius like you to comprehend.

Spearing had an off day, he's played far better. He probably will go back, which I think would be a shame.
