Holden back in full training

Re: Holden back in full training
hope we get to see him before the end of the season.
ideally he shows his old form. or signs of it at least.
and if he does and he is out of contract. would not begrudge him a move to a club bigger & better run than this one.

Re: Holden back in full training
According to one of our American posters from when was good a couple of years back, Holden does have a habit of running down contracts and pissing off on a Bosman so it wouldn't surprise me. And I doubt we extended his contract and didn't release the news like we did Chung Yong Lee.
In fact I believe they even coined the term 'to do a holden' or 'holdened' or something of that ilk for players who did that. Naturally I could be wrong.

Anyway, without dampening the spirits of ecstasy or anything, how often is somebody out for as long as Holden's been and they come back as good as before? Isn't it much more the case once crock, repeatedly crocked?

Where've you been? You've been out almost as long as Holden. Did you have a Peppa Pig breakdown, carted off from work in a special ambulance?ohjimmyjimmy wrote:Either way, the proof will be in the pudding..thebish wrote:Dr Hotdog wrote:According to one of our American posters from when was good a couple of years back, Holden does have a habit of running down contracts and pissing off on a Bosman so it wouldn't surprise me. Re: Holden back in full training
I think it's a stretch to suggest he'd in any way hamper his own career to stay with us, no matter how happy and full of mad banter he is. Presumably he was quite fond of Houston Dynamo too, but still opted to leave to come to England. I'm sure if Chelsea came in for him (if we're comparing him to Cahill), he wouldn't have to think twice.
Anyway, I don't think there will be a large queue for his services given how long he's been out, so I'd expect him to stay.

Re: Holden back in full training
Might be true for the Houston Dynamo, but in all honest whats the point of him sitting in America on significantly less than a PL salary while the Dynamo want big sums of money when he can just bosman out for somewhere else. At least with us we'd be paying him a substantial wage that I doubt he'll get much better knowing that he's not played for yonks.newcarsmell wrote:But that's just not true is it !Dr Hotdog wrote:According to one of our American posters from when was good a couple of years back, Holden does have a habit of running down contracts and pissing off on a Bosman
Re: Holden back in full training
He was on about $40k a year at Houston or something wasn't he
The type of his injury, as opposed to a clean leg break or something, makes him less attractive to buy if he comes back OK
but let's not be naive - if a situation arises which is good for the player......
