We're domed. Not even SKD can save us this time.
Re: The Birmingham City Blues At Home
Apologies, I was being a bit vague. You said you weren't entirely sure if your memory was correct about our form always being poor at this time of the year. But people agree, so it must be!thebish wrote:and??Jugs wrote:You made the same point about our Christmas form on Saturday.thebish wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote:This is true. aye.... BWFC - cheering the fans up for new year since as long as anyone can remember!!!

In the cold light of day, I still can't see us getting anything today. But whenever I feel like this, we always get something. I'll put a few quid on 2-1 Bolton.

2-1 whites

phew!Dougie wrote:“The lads are very disappointed with the way they performed on Boxing Day and I’ve seen a quiet determination around the group. That is great to see as a coach and over the last couple of days we’ve gone about our business very professionally.
“Against Sheffield Wednesday we let ourselves down, there’s no doubt about that. But we’ve addressed the issues from that game and we’ll move on. Sometimes you have to accept defeats to get better and I’m sure we’ll do that.”

I wonder if he can play 'out of position' ?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I wouldn't mind seeing him play left back (in the changing room)

Re: The Birmingham City Blues At Home
Ah well match day again. What excitement beckons from our intrepid heroes today?
Looking forward with eager anticipation to a veritable feast of sumptuous skills. Where to start..our young promising keeper who will in time establish himself as one of Hungary's finest. Is 25 that young though!!
Mears who once did a really good tackle in the game against Charlton and would probably rather be elsewhere if he can be bundled up in a package to be delivered to OC's next club. Knight and Ream - twin colossi, insurmountable and impregnable generally but a little bit scared of heading wet balls. Ricketts, ubiquitous in his utility and versatility. He can play anywhere but sadly frequently to little effect.
Midfield - who needs little triangles when we can trailblaze the new 5 yard horizontal lines.
Andrews (this week's deliverer of the "very soon we are going to thrash someone and go on a long winning run to glory" message), who had a glorious spurt of goalscoring last season but doesn't do that job for us. Spearing whose tackling is always 'tigerish', runs about and tries but doesn't succeed.
Eagles, not as often described as tigerish. He likes to shoot I've noticed. Some even go in but we all like to groan since most bobble through to the net custodian or we can jostle excitedly to catch the ball in he stands.
CYL - Sad but maybe he can be good again one day.
Our Bulgar Martin likes to stick to running in a straight line and whacking it indiscriminately into the box. It's so simple it could be effective if we had a striker who strikes.
Afobe the acrobat. He's a big lad but sadly not a footballer. N'gog - just when you despair he treats us to the occasional cameo before retreating into a slough of despond. Sordell - mercurial, enigmatic, a virtual being.
So it promises to be very exciting today. Half the crowd booing while the other half shrug in disdain, we all trudge off wishing we didn't have to come and thinking maybe next time it will be so different. By the middle of the week we're convinced it will be because Zat Knight has said so in the paper.
My prediction then is 0-0.

I had just come in from walking the dog, was pi55ed wet through and asking myself if I seriously fancied getting wet again to watch another gutless performance. Your post at least gave me a laugh.
Optimism is up now. C'mon lads
