Mark Hughes had talks with Colin Todd allegedly after leaving the scum but went doon South

BSA had a dip at signing Kanu if I recall, but he wanted 80k a week!!

Just after that we missed out on Wiltord.

Van Der Sar was esconced in the De Vere waiting to sign a contract on the Monday morning and his agent got a call from OT. When we went to get him, he'd done a runner and signed on for them, or so I heard.

Wilfred Zaha.

Coyle could have ruined HIS career, instead of Sordell's.

Wasn't there a story some time back about us agreeing a fee with United for him in the Todd era; then Fergie came to his senses and pulled the deal at the last-minute?

No doubt he wouldn't have come here, and no doubt there isn't even an ounce of truth to it, but I'm sure that I've read about it somewhere.

D'you know that rings a bell with me too. Mind, I think it was just an internet rumour. iirc, it caused a minor upset with the site's ginger fraternity when someone said they'd be returning their season ticket if we ever signed a piss stained manc wranger bastard. :D

Also, long ago .... I think in the Todd days. Scholes was young & surrounded by top players & not getting too much game time. I'm sure we tried a cheeky one.
