This Kellet lad is supposed to be good.

Is it just me, or is it getting nigh on impossible to work out who we've actually signed and who we haven't. I would half expect to turn up on Saturday and see Gregus and Jedinak playing with Alonso missing, except that anybody we sign will be stuck on the training pitch for two months before they are allowed in the team.

To prove their fitness they'll have to carry Alonso to Florence

Nope, it's not just you.r0ckpaperscissors wrote:Is it just me, or is it getting nigh on impossible to work out who we've actually signed and who we haven't. Where the Slovakian currently is I have no idea.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Worthy's better class of transfer thread
Why did we sign a 19 year old to a 3 year deal anyway?? Isn't a 4 year deal the norm for a player of such a young age. Would be genuinely gutted if this deal is true, not even because Alonso is all that good (he is on thr upside tbf) but just shows how far our club has fallen.

I originally thought it may have been a work permit issue, but I think Slovakia is part of the EU.bobo the clown wrote:Nope, it's not just you.r0ckpaperscissors wrote:Is it just me, or is it getting nigh on impossible to work out who we've actually signed and who we haven't. If you recall we took him & his mate on loan. We made him permanent and his chum wouldn't sign ... he subsequently joined Benfica & last year was tearing up trees for them.wanderers_on_tour wrote:Why did we sign a 19 year old to a 3 year deal anyway?? I seem to remember that we had to offer first dibs to Real Madrid if ever we sold him.It looks like they opted out.
It always seemed like Alonso was the loss leader to get him to sign, but his dad ruled the roost there & we weren't able to get him on board again.
... & no, I can't recall his mate's name !

Whither Adam Blakeman, beloved of Dan and quite the ticket this time last year? Remember DF said he wants academy promotees this season...officer_dibble wrote:He wont be replaced with anyone expensive either. Isnt there a young lad coming through? We loaned Rodrigo from Benfica IIRC.
We had a deal setup with Madrid for Alonso and Rodrigo, but there was a delay, Rodrigo went to Benfica, then we loaned him. So separate to Alonso!
