Ah, well in that case leave Leeds out of the equation and we would have been 9th right up to the time Wednesday kicked off. 10th thereafter.bettyrasta wrote:Interesting theory but Leeds had finished by the time we kicked off!Montreal Wanderer wrote:Actually I think the Beeb may have been right at one time or another. We were in 8th when we were winning and Leeds was tied. We dropped to 9th when Barnsley tied the score. Then we scored and went to 8th again, but dropped back when Leeds scored in the 72nd minute. Then, as soon as the Wednesday game started and Forest had a point, we dropped to 10th where we now reside.thebish wrote:no - not at all - the BBC's mistake!bean wrote: Ah fair play, my mistake!

2) it wouldn't explain why at 5:15 the BBC "live" table showed us having 45pts and at 5:30 showed us having 48pts
3) we were 10th when Barnsley equalised

Talk about an arguement about the size of a grain of salt. Sheesh. It was easier when we were losing !!
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I saw the table with my eyes - it was wrongly recorded for a time - the BBC corrected it - end of story. I was a bit bemused by Monty's rather weird reconstruction including Leeds...
tell us summat interesting about the game Bobo!

Thought the highlights show was going to end without bothering showing us. We got a few seconds.

BBC site is pretty crap for updating itself outside of the Premier League results. Goals take 5 minutes + to update and the league table is more often than not a complete mess during game time.thebish wrote:1) Leeds finished before we kicked offMontreal Wanderer wrote:Actually I think the Beeb may have been right at one time or another. Old school & not the poorer for it.TKIZ! wrote:Not been back long and I can hardly talk. Oakwell is proper old school and glad I went
Dancing in the aisle when Dawson put us 3-2 up.
One of my son's first away matches - it was good for him to experience friendly & engaging home fans, and best for him a proper sandwich shop (Oakwell sandwiches anyone?) rather than a plastic Subway shop.
To me, that contrast says a lot
Re: Away, Barnsley.
thing is - it was quite speedy and accurate during the game - I pointed out the ups and downs during the match thread... but at the end of the game it suddenly docked us 3pts for half an hour!danardif1 wrote:

Re: Away, Barnsley.
Perhaps they'd built in a specific 'Bolton dropping points late on' algorithm into their league tables and hadn't realised we're awesome now!?!thebish wrote:thing is - it was quite speedy and accurate during the game - I pointed out the ups and downs during the match thread... but at the end of the game it suddenly docked us 3pts for half an hour!danardif1 wrote:

They've rebuilt most of it - you should've went 15 years ago!

I hard a bit of commentary from another game last week and the commentator said (of the goalie):bobo the clown wrote:Bruce Rioja wrote:TKIZ! wrote:Oakwell is proper old school

Re: Away, Barnsley.
A very good win at a tough place to go, I remember seeing a 3-0 hiding here in the past.
In fact I cannot remember when we last beat Barnsley.

2001 we won 1-0 with Ricketts scoring.

Wigan standard. I worked with a couple of brothers from there who always insisted it was right.thebish wrote: I hard a bit of commentary from another game last week and the commentator said (of the goalie):

Re: Away, Barnsley.
Good day out. Some thoughts:
Defensively sound first half then all over the shop second. Barnsley looked a lot fitter than us I think.
Why did Medo go mental?
Dawson is the man! He'll be playing top flight next year.
Alonso can bollocks for me we need full backs who can defend. He'd be a good midfielder mind.
Pratley is our fittest player. Covers some ground.
Ricketts played well for a change. Partly to blame for their first i suspect though.
Chungy best game for a while.
Eagles was fine did well first half. Didnt shirk. Needs a goal for his confidence.
What the feck did craig davies think he was doing? Did he forget he wsnt playing for barnsley and just chest it back to steele?

We need to stop sending him up for corners, when we're in front. It's drawing far too much attention to him.officer_dibble wrote:Dawson is the man! He'll be playing top flight next year.
