Re: Wigan
I think Wigan will win 1 more match and Newcastle lose both there's against QPR and the Arse. Pity but there it is.
Don't try to be a great man. Just be a man and let history make up its own mind.

Re: Wigan
I don't understand why we have a problem with Wigan... They punch above their weight, have a manager that I like, play attractive football, stay in the top division...
Kinda like i want us to be...

Re: Wigan
I'd much rather Newcastle go down than Wigan.
Re: Wigan
Hell no. Wigan, Sunderland, Norwich in that order, factoring in likely strength of squad come next season and possibility for implosion. I think Reading and QPR will be strong, need the third to be weak.

Re: Wigan
If Newcastle go down, same GD as Wigan, only they have 3 points more they'll lose a large amount of players and will be in the same situation QPR are in!Prufrock wrote:Hell no. However, Whelan and Martinez....ughhhh.
Martinez has a reputation amongst some journalists of being the "biggest fraud in the game".
Whilst that may be somewhat harsh, he's not exactly moved Wigan on. Steve Bruce did better there, league position wise.
They are ultimately a team that scrap against relegation each year (or they are under Martinez). They may be "beating some odds" I don't know. They've probably at a guess spent more than say Norwich for example. If he weren't Spanish and all that and wear them long coats and speak funny I reckon he'd get a much rougher, and possibly deserved ride.

Meanwhile ... shouldn't this be on the 'Other Football' threads ?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

The same journalists who clamber over themselves to tell us how Harry Redknapp is the peoples choice and is the best of the best at managing a football club.BWFC_Insane wrote: Martinez has a reputation amongst some journalists of being the "biggest fraud in the game".
They don't like Martinez, because he keeps Wigan in the Premier League. Punters aren't arsed about reading Wigan stories in their papers.

Re: Wigan
I'd rather it was Villa but not going to happen but would pee my pants if Newcastle got relegated, if not those two then let the Rugby town go down

I was saving that for after I arrive. I may yet place the resort manager's head on a stake at the sea plane jetty to serve as a warning to hotel staff not to attempt to rip me off again. That would make a unique Maldives thread!Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Don't you dare start a Maldives thread in revenge.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:I think it is the grumpy old farts that mind this.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:I'm with Bobo.
