Re: Wigan
I'm glad they went down, especially after Whelan said that there wasn't anything wrong with McManaman's tackle on Haidara just hope they keep going down just like wolves

Re: Wigan
Would of preferred then to drop in front of their own. More tears. c*nts couldn't even get relegated properly.
I'll not bullshit - one hell of a way to go winning the cup. I'd swap. Lets hope the way this evens itself out involves them fecking off back to division 3 till we forget them enough to welcome them back.

Re: Wigan
they did extremely well to win the cup. they were fantastic on saturday and the same when they blitzed everton at goodison. but other than that they did have an easy ride (millwall in the semi's was a gift). cracking achievement all the same.
but it irks me somewhat to hear the likes of niall quinn tonight and others praise them for their season as a whole. recency bias at it's best. they've played nice football lately for sure and have a few smart looking players but they are where they are because they haven't been good enough over a season. mainly because they cannot defend.
be interesting to see how they get on in the summer. martinez staying is bigger than any single player for them. if he does and they keep most of their squad, they'll probably be faves to get back up. big if though.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Wigan
You sure they've got the bottle for this division? I'd say they're almost as likely to go straight through it like Wolves. Players will disappear, and it's not like they've got the Wigan Roar to depend on...James B wrote:martinez staying is bigger than any single player for them. if he does and they keep most of their squad, they'll probably be faves to get back up. big if though.
Re: Wigan
i'd be very surprised if they did a wolves. almost impossible to say whether they'd have bottle/stomach etc for the championship which is the same with everyone. it's a tough division to get out of. but if they can keep the key components. pundits & bookies will have them toward favouritism to do it.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:You sure they've got the bottle for this division? They've also got a European campaign to deal with.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:You sure they've got the bottle for this division? I'd say they're almost as likely to go straight through it like Wolves. You can't criticise them for a lack of bottle...Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:You sure they've got the bottle for this division? I'd say they're almost as likely to go straight through it like Wolves.
