Would Carlton Cole be worth a punt? Free transfer. Unsure what his wages would be like though. Maybe worth a 1 year deal?

Anyone who has played at that level and is on a free is worth looking at.BWFC_Insane wrote:Are you on drugs?leyther95 wrote:Would Carlton Cole be worth a punt? Free transfer. Unsure what his wages would be like though. Maybe worth a 1 year deal?
Being on drugs is not really relevent and I am unsure whether that would make it good or bad.

If being off drugs makes you appreciate Megson, jack me up on whatever sh*t you've got. And plenty of it. Please.

What sort of medication do you need to think Carlton Cole would be a good idea though? Cos I'm clearly short on that!Lord Kangana wrote:If being off drugs makes you appreciate Megson, jack me up on whatever sh*t you've got. And plenty of it. Please.

Its a moot point, as I'm guessing he'll get a Premier League club (or, the smart money says QPR), but I really think you need to restock your medicine cabinet. A guy with his power and presence would be a good addition at this level.

Indeed. I think we're amply covered in the couldn't-score-in-a-brothel department.BWFC_Insane wrote:What sort of medication do you need to think Carlton Cole would be a good idea though? Craig Davies will do the 'Carlton Cole role' perfectly adequately

Oh do come on. He's like Zat Knight but plays up front. A big unit who manages to lose every aerial battle and get knocked over by a puff of wind.Lord Kangana wrote:Its a moot point, as I'm guessing he'll get a Premier League club (or, the smart money says QPR), but I really think you need to restock your medicine cabinet. Not for me.
Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
Baptiste is a done deal.
Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
WANDERERS have beaten clubs from the Championship and the Premier League to the signing of Blackpool defender Alex Baptiste.
The 27-year-old defender had several options on the table, including newly-promoted Hull City, but it is understood that he has agreed a three-year deal with the Whites this morning, subject to a medical.
Baptiste – who skippered Blackpool last season and had the option of another year at Bloomfield Road – can play in a variety of positions across the back four, but primarily as a right back.

I'd still sign a CB and play Baptiste at right back

That is a solid signing at this level.ChrisC wrote:WANDERERS have beaten clubs from the Championship and the Premier League to the signing of Blackpool defender Alex Baptiste.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Be nice to get Ricketts out of the equation with Mears and Baptiste vying for RB.
Can't ever see Riley making it with us whilst he's so regularly injured.

Not a bad player and certainly impressed me watching him in the play off final when Blackpool beat Cardiff.
He does make mistakes but this is another steady if unspectacular signing.

"93"

West Brom have released Jerome Thomas.. Decent player but Nixon reckons we are aiming higher.
