Re: Club Rebranding
If you're that offended by 'QuickQuid' being our sponser then you clearly have very few worries in your life. They probably offered most money, as football is a money game so you can't blame us for choosing them. Just like teams have been sponsored by Wonga (blackpool), 188 Bet, Boyle Sport and beer companies such as Chang or Carlsberg. Get over yourselves and go and support your local uner 8's team because they're probably sponsored by Vimto.

never understood this kind of argument - it kinda presupposes that people can only be concerned about one thing at a time and therefore have to dismiss everything that isn't the main concern in their own life at that particular moment...
here's the thing - people are quite capable of being concerned about more than one thing at once and (here's the sophisticated bit) be concerned about different things at different levels/degrees all at the same time! the human brain is ace!
it's a bit like detractors from the recent "gay marriage" bill protesting that the government should be getting on with the important thing - screwing the poor - as if the government isn't perfectly capable of doing more than one thing at a time...

Club can't comment!
If they did, short of pulling out of the whole deal, it would have to look like this -

BWFC are aware of the concerns raised since our announcement, but we're carrying on regardless so don't bother carrying on with these silly protests and petitions."

Re: Club Rebranding
So MP's have developed a conscience all of a sudden? For years the big banks handed out cheap loans to people who couldn't afford to pay them back. MP's weren't complaining then. In fact they were complicit because they did little or nothing to regulate them.
Re: Club Rebranding
They don't have to justify anything, certainly not in response to 1 questionable politician and his mateswigan white wrote:Be very interesting to see what happens today, with the club refusing to comment after the 3 Bolton Councillors chipped in with their say.
Surely the club need to come out and justify why they went with Quick Quid

Wonga was on Blackpool's kid kit so I would assume QQ will be on ours.wigan white wrote:Be very interesting to see what happens today, with the club refusing to comment after the 3 Bolton Councillors chipped in with their say.
Surely the club need to come out and justify why they went with Quick Quid otherwise it'll show what a poor choice they've made and yet again poor thinking from Gartside.
Also if they stick with QQ then will they put the sponsor on the Kids kits?????

Just to summarise, we've got teams sponsored by beer, airlines, betting shops, major gambling online, fried chickens and just about everything else, and two major leagues sponsored by two of the biggest rip-offs in finance, energy and banks...and we have outtrage at loan companies? Have I got it right?

Re: Club Rebranding
Will, I'll be seeing a game every Saturday as I'm a referee in the Northamptonshire Combination and I'll see a game every Sunday as I run an Under 15 football team in the Northampton and District Youth Alliance. Not to mention the footballing extravaganza to be served up by Sky and the terrestrial channels. Not too many games at the Reebok or on the road with BWFC, I fear. Thanks for asking.thebish wrote:William the White wrote:Thanks Zulu.Zulus Thousand of em wrote:You keep flying the ethical banner on our behalf Will.William the White wrote:Quickquid chooses us because they think we are a perfect partner for their market - dirt poor, no class, no space for ethics...
Just a prole northern town with poor people so desperate they can be super-exploited... And we are the right kind of club to help them do it...
They are right...
I find this depressing...
The fact that so many on here don't is even more depressing...
There's a good lad!
If I wasn't so effective I'd just give up...
Will you be seeing many games this year?
ooof - set passive-aggressive phaser to stun!
Bish, what are you rambling on about?

Nothing like a bit of righteous indignation, especially if you think it might carry a few votes!

Me too. In fact, when he's not WUMming about the manager, BL3 is a fine poster.CAPSLOCK wrote:You're going to be gutted, but I am going to agreeBL3 wrote:So MP's have developed a conscience all of a sudden? As far as I'm aware there's no rule about not promoting payday loan companies to kids (as opposed to betting/booze) so the sponsors will presumably be on the kids' kits too

The comments at the bottom.....Balboa, suggesting wearing t-shirts which say "against Quick Quid". That's the one, protest about having Quick Quid on the shirt by wearing a shirt that mentions....Quick Quid. Excellent.
