I'm not sure the comments of some illiterate Leicester feck* overly concern me. I think he'll do well. He scored with a couple of great finishes for Hudds at the end of last season. I don't think he'll ever be a fans' favourite, but one of those you grudgingly admire when he does the job he's brought in to do on a regular enough basis. And there'll be other games where he looks like an idle waster who needs a good bollocking.

Sky Sports understands that Bolton Wanderers and Blackburn Rovers are leading the chase for Lens midfielder Samba Sow. The Mali international was wanted by Nottingham Forest last summer, but they failed to put a deal in place following a trial spell at the City Ground.

The Oracle said he has been watched but not fancied.

Twitter quotes saying we are looking at QPR left back Yun Suk-Young. No quote although it has been reported on one of the Korean websites. Done a quick internet search but I can't find anything.

Took a look at the original article. Mostly speculation. Says Bolton had been asking for him to be loaned out since April and have tried for a transfer since the end of the season but QPR is flat out refusing all offers. Shame if it's true. Even from what little I've seen of him he offers so much more than Alonso/Robinson and maybe even Taylor and he's wasted under Redface.

But Korean media are all about hype so I don't think there is much to it. All the recent news is about how Chungy is headed to Everton and how Bolton fans are in a panic.

I'm hoping we get someone better than Beckford, who I'd place behind N'Gog, Davies and maybe Sordell too. For me, he's not the goalscorer we need.
Too lightweight? Who would he be facing? The lad is rapid and has a low centre of gravity. Good balance and awareness. And I'll tell you one thing. The cliché brigade might not like it, but Premier league defenders are a damn sight more brutal, physical, and cynical than their championship equivalent.

I've said it before, but defence is one area where the Prem ones make the championship ones look like wimps.

It was actually better than that.. Think it was one every 160 odd. Excellent ratio.

And apparently (apparently) his wages will be absolute nowhere what people are making out. We won't be giving him the millions we give plenty of other players (who have proved incapable)

I'm trying not to worry that these quick signings - Tierney, Baptiste, Hall, possibly/probably Beckford, the two kids, have I missed anyone out? - are sapping our purse in a way we'll later reject if there's a chance of Dawson and/or Spearing. I don't doubt Dougie, but you're welcome to reassure me.
You know full well that his early work is purely down to making sure he gets them supremely fit.. I don't think it's case of blowing his load early, so to speak.

I think we'll all be pleasantly surprised come the end of the window

Filling two long term week areas ... full back ... both of whom were out of contact, and catching a highly rated youngster who was here last year seems just a case of knowing what you want. .... I think !!

A couple of "ones for the future is, again, making up for our poor showing of development from the ranks.

Beckford, as I say, could well be the precursor to Sordell .... & maybe N'Gog's exit ... bringing y funds and freeing up salaries.

Dawson would be worth stretching for in any case .... Spearing too, though Medo may mitigate that loss.

As Boris says, I think he wants a full pre season if at all possible. Plus players are available when they are and others come in for them if we don't (or, in Warnock's case, if we do !!)

If it's going to be a winger from Liverpool then it could either be Suso or Assaidi. Both decent players! Or Stewart Downing.......

if we have signed Beckford, then in a strikers list we have...

Beckford
Cravies
Eaves
Sordell
N'gog
Odelusi

also - some have said that we have to play Eagles (in effect) as a striker...

seems like a lot!

also..

Rob Hall is sometimes referred to as a striker...

Odelusi is more a wideman from what I've been told. But you missed off lad from Millwall, Wilkinson, who is a striker.

Looking at Beckford, he sounds a lot like SKD when we first signed him, he was excellent at Chestrerfield then got a couple of big money moves did not impress and ended up out of favour he came here and the rest is history. Beckford may find his spiritual home at the Reebok under a good manager.

No one knows what a players is going to do until he plays, looking at how he has done in the past is basically redundant at the environment variables change from club to club. Freedman like to play to a specific system where players are given a job and he expects them to understand and carry out the job. He is obviously looking at players who fit into this mould?

BWFC official site wrote:Sanmi Odelusi is a striker who has graduated through the Bolton Wanderers academy having also spent time in the QPR and Reading youth set-ups.

After impressing in the reserve team in the 2011-12 season, scoring 4 goals in 16 appearances, Odelusi was rewarded with his first professional contract. In July 2012 he signed a one year deal with the club.
i've never heard of Wilkinson - when did he arrive!!!

ahhh - Conor - now that rings a bell... is he expected to be in contention for the first team? I thought he was a teen-for-the-future purchase..

Also missed off Zach Clough, who may yet prove to be the pick of the lot.

I wouldn't mind seeing the back of Sordell and Craig Davies to be honest. Neither offer much of what we need.

I doubt Clough or Odelusi will feature for us much this season. More likely to be loaned somewhere for first team experience.

Wilkinson and Eaves are young but may well be involved to some level. Not sure they are ones to be relied on yet though.

NGog, Sordell, Craig Davies and Beckford as a senior four seems about right. Suspect Sordell will be sold should there be anything in the Rhodes story or any other striker we may sign.....

Craig Davies is a grafter who I reckon could get you 10 goals a season.

I certainly think he's worth a squad place at the very least.

Squad place maybe.. But he's the least intelligent runner I've seen since.. Well since Davo last seaosn to be honest, but that's besides the point. He's got an absolute rocket of a shot when he (rarely) connects properly and he's a decent athlete, but he just doesn't look like he's 'got it' to me.. I may be proven wrong, but a guy of his size and athelticism should be absolutely pummeling some of the soft arse defenders we see in this league, but he just doesn't.
