It makes perfect sense.CrazyHorse wrote:What time of the day do you have start drinking at for this to make any sense? Seriously this sort of riddle would give Gollum a headache.BWFC_Insane wrote: He signed a contract with us. But as explained the rest needs sorting before he has 'signed'.

He's signed but something has to happen before he's signed.

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
He signed a contract with us. But was still under contract with Leicester at the time. And an agreement had to be reached between Beckford his agent and Leicester (and potentially Bolton too) as to how the Leicester contract would be cancelled. Until such time his registration couldn't be transferred from Leicester to Bolton. So he signed a contract but wasn't our player.CrazyHorse wrote:He's signed but something has to happen before he's signed.

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
But surely he was not in a position to sign a contract with us while his contract with Leicester was still in place - unless what he signed with us had a proviso in it saying that it only became valid once the Leicester one had been terminated

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
It happens all the time. Usually a fee is agreed permission given to the player to speak to the club, talks, medical, player signs deal, money exchanges hands, registration is transferred.Bruno3 wrote:But surely he was not in a position to sign a contract with us while his contract with Leicester was still in place - unless what he signed with us had a proviso in it saying that it only became valid once the Leicester one had been terminated
In this case the issue being that Leicester didn't realise they'd have to pay Beckford off. So they stalled on the registration being transferred.
That's why under contract players have to get permission from their current club before speaking to a new one.

Nixon says there is a bid in for one of our strikers. Trying to keep for tomorrow's paper but might come out later.
In one comment he says the whole thing will come as a shock.
Hmmm.

I don't think he did. Can only see it being Ngog or Sordell.boltonboris wrote:N'gog didn't travel yesterday did he?

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
If it's a 'shock' I can only see it being for one we have just bought or a local club like Wiggin bidding for Sordell. The N'gog thing seems more likely and personally, I expect him to leave. I don't want to lose him, but I expect we will.

Well, it's just a bid ... and we want to bid for players, so we have to expect people to bid for ours.
Hardly a shock if it is N'Gog or Sordell ... unless someone offering serious money is the shock !
The other one would be if it was Eagles (again) or Chungy.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Someone in the Twittersphere reckons it's Cardiff in for Sordell, which isn't much of a shock. Although they've paid about £8m for that Cornelius lad from Denmark.
Someone else on twittersphere reckons it's a prem team (possibly Hull) in for Tom Eaves.. Which would be surprising and probably not one that would spark his interest too much.

Aye, but someone on twittersphere also reckons Chelsea bid £10m and Mata for Rooney.

These. Craig Davies or Tom Eaves would be a "shock", but not N'Gog (linked away) or Sordell (never really settled). Coyle going for one of his old buys wouldn't be a shock. But there we go, analysing words, just like he wants. I'm just glad there's some sense of traffic going out of the club - we can't keep hiring without firing. I'd like to see Mills off to Leeds, by the same rationale.boltonboris wrote:Someone in the Twittersphere reckons it's Cardiff in for Sordell, which isn't much of a shock.
Eagles and Chungy aren't strikers.

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
The funniest part of that is that "Sky sources" say they offered Mata or Luiz plus 10 million.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:...and that MU turned it down.mrkint wrote:Aye, but someone on twittersphere also reckons Chelsea bid £10m and Mata for Rooney.
If Sky believe that, then the need to step away from the HP sauce!

If its a shock then it could be Beckford!

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
NGog or Sordell being bid for would hardly be a shock. Unless the surprise was Moyes was in for them.
I'd go with Eaves or Craig Davies or possibly Zach Clough. Mind we were meant to be announcing Beckford this morning and haven't so 2+2=?

Eaves is injured (again) isn't he ?BWFC_Insane wrote:NGog or Sordell being bid for would hardly be a shock. Unless the surprise was Moyes was in for them.

Craig Davies would be a surprise but he (& Dougie) must feel he's a bit surplus.
If it was Clough I'd be pissed about it. I really want to see him come through this year.
