Re: Deadline Day
First sign of sweeping changes will be in the team selection for leeds.
Knight
Wheater
Mears
Ngog
Pratley...(possibly being a tad harsh...ability is more darrens problem not effort).
Should all not start. I'd be making big time charlies train with the reserved...no hunger, don't care. Given the lack of funds it is the only way to inject some discipline. How do you make players who know they will pick up a massive wedge, bigger than they will get elsewhere, play? You can't.
Bring in the likes of white, bolger, eaves. At least we'll get effort. This club stagnates until we can bin the big time charlies, and promote some youth. Lets acelerate the process. Plus get some loans in to help.
If the weak charecters named above never play for us again I'll be hapy.
We're in exactly the same position the likes of leeds, sheff weds, coventry etc have been in. We need to sack the shit.
No transfers I feel - changes internally needed.

Sorry we just aren't. Kid makes a mistake against Leeds 'boooooooooooo'.
Some of them got dogs abuse against Tranmere. Playing em at home against Leeds?
We just have to stick with what we've got till the big contacts run out. Afraid it's going to be about patience now. IMO.

Re: Deadline Day
I'd argue Zat Knight/Tyrone Mears/F*ckwit Wheater/etc first mistake against leeds is gonna generate a helluva lot more boos than hayden whites.
These kids are in and around the first team.
Better still dropping the overpaid underperformers shows em dougie means business.
If the same XI starts v leeds he's gone back on his own words
I'll think a lot less of him. As will others I guess.

Lets face it, the kids had a go at Tranmere and weren't good enough.
They'd just get murdered by Leeds, booed and nobody would be any happier. Except we might ruin some promising careers.

Eaves, Odelusi especially.officer_dibble wrote:Which kids were not good enough at tranmere?
Vela and Hall to a lesser extent.
We don't have good enough kids to chuck loads into a struggling first team. Dougie said we had four ready to play a small part in the first team this season. But not to play huge roles.
We can't just chuck youngsters in. I know you want to get rid of players who are underperforming but I think we just have to grin and bear it in the short term at least.
Re: Deadline Day
No-one suggesting stick them all in. Honestly though, we cannot keep playing Knight and Wheater together! We need a centre-half who can even nearly run. Baptiste ain't quick, but he'd probably do. That'd mean playing Mears though, who seems to be running on empty atm. Or Ream, who played well against QPR but is never, ever a CB in this league. Or Mills. Who also can't run. Or a child.
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

Sad that Hunt has left Hudds, as they can't have a right0-side combination of Jack Hunt, Sean Scannell, which you sing to the tune of the Black Keys' Have Love Will Travel. (Well we do in our office.)

Re: Deadline Day
From the BBC:
FRAUD?
Spanish football writer Andy West: "Some bizarre reports coming out regarding United's collapsed Herrera deal. Apparently a group of men claiming to be United representatives spent an hour at the La Liga offices in Madrid today, but it turns out they had nothing to do with the club and were presumably just attempting to get a cut of the deal in an elaborate fraud.
"Must be stressed these are just rumours but the Spanish media have published pictures of men in black suits - supposedly the United "representatives" - coming out of the league offices carrying briefcases.
"All very strange and no doubt the truth will come out in the next few days."

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
