Edward Henderson - Director of Bolton Wanderers
Hello,
I am researching my great grandfather, Edward Henderson, who was a director of Bolton Wanderers up until his death in 1909. He may well have been on the original board of directors when the club was founded. Does anybody have any record of him? I have approached the club and they say they have nothing which seems odd. He was a brewer's traveller (salesman) in later life and must have made a few bob.
Luckily we have his photo and he is the image of my father, Thomas Edward Henderson formerly of Kylemore Avenue, Deane.
Any help would appreciated.
Many thanks,
Roger

It appears that quite a lot of info is held on the site indicated below, but I can't tell if there's a Henderson mentioned. Might have to pay to view the archives.

Don't try to be a great man. Just be a man and let history make up its own mind.

Cheers for that Gravedigger, looks like an intersting archive of Bolton stuff. Always good to know where stuff is located.Gravedigger wrote:It appears that quite a lot of info is held on the site indicated below, but I can't tell if there's a Henderson mentioned. Should be free to check at the actual National Archives, down at Kew. One of Britain's ugliest buildings but by 'eck there's some info in there.

Would there not be anything held at Companies House? Not sure when the company was actually formed but if you dig out details on The Bolton Wanderers Football & Athletic Company Ltd, it might point you in the right direction.
May the bridges I burn light your way
