well - apart from the fact that you don't want him sacked!CrazyHorse wrote:Sounds bang on the money to me.

also - that would mean you think he's worse than Coyle - which you may well think - but would surprise me! (last time SF declared that Coyle is better than Freedman - you laughed at SF...)

I'm still in the back him camp. Just.
He's got 2 more games for me. Any less than 4 pts and I'm out.

Well Dougie has less points in more games. Both this season and lastthebish wrote:well - apart from the fact that you don't want him sacked!CrazyHorse wrote:Sounds bang on the money to me.

Yep this is where I'm at at the moment. Should really be beating Bournemouth and Millwall but when you don't gets wins against Yeovil, Sheff wed and Ipswich at home you really do wonder.Harry Genshaw wrote:I'm still in the back him camp. Just.

It's clear the players aren't playing for him or buying into his ideas anymore. All the big name players (Eagles, Ngog, Lee, even Spearing to an extent) are struggling for form or don't look interested. This is the time when managers really earn their money.

Re: The Duggie Poll
Lose at Bournemouth and he's a dead man walking for me. I've made my mind up, that's the parameters.
I don't care what other wonderful stuff he's doing, like giving the canteen a good clean, and keeping the dressing room really, really tidy (not to mention his office. Have you seen his office? Have you? F*cking perfect.) It doesn't really matter - a long enough period of bad results, and the rot will set in.We're already in danger of ending up in a relegation battle. It could end up a lost one. Poor football, combined with bad results will see crowds dwindle.
One more game, and then I say we roll the dice again if we get nowt.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

We didn't lose in October - a full month. He could be on for Manager of the Month. That'll fcuk the next game, good n proper.Lord Kangana wrote:Lose at Bournemouth and he's a dead man walking for me. I've made my mind up, that's the parameters.

Scary - our best run of results so far this season, and we're still out of the relegation zone on goal difference (or is it a point? Whichever, its still f*cking rubbish).

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

As a No.1 (see 'foof') I'd say 'For', No.2 would have been against!!bobo the clown wrote:So, is that a 'for' or 'against vote ?LeverEnd wrote:Just spotted this on Twitter, or twatter as some of you have been known to refer to it, appropriately in this instance....![]()

Re: The Duggie Poll
Still just about backing him. I don't know how long for. We seem to have some deep-rooted problems; the internet jury is definitely out on whether he's the man to change that long-term, assuming we manage to stay up this season.
Weirdly it would feel very different if we were two places lower, as I suppose we would be but for that five-game unbeaten run (why, that's almost half the season, chaps). Some might call that complacency among the fans; others might say there's a dearth of alternatives, or willingness to chop and change...

Re: The Duggie Poll
Wouldn't we be bottom of the league with only 3 less points than we have now? I don't really know (or perhapa understand) exactly when at a massive rebuilding job entails at a football club. The bricks and mortar structures pretty much remain the same, so after the first couple of weeks installing your new training methods, what exactly do you spend the next 11 1/2 months doing?
It would be really good to actually get some kind of explanation as to what takes 12 months bur doesn't involbe improving the first team, us being a football club and everything.

Is an interesting one. I thought the fans overall were much the same with Coyle ie. pretty supportive. Its only after he's gone that a majority seem to have decided he was the architect of our decline and a charlatan.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Still just about backing him. I don't know how long for. Strikes me that how the manager communicates with the fans seems to be as big a factor as results. Would Megson have been given slack if his results had been the same ? As Bananarama put it - it seems its not what you do, its the way that you do it

Re: The Duggie Poll
At the moment I am in the keep him camp. I still think there is a good manager in there struggling to get out although he really isn't helping himself with his negative tactics (perhaps resulting from an obsession with certain Italian 'grind 'em out' tactics).
If things follow in the way that the second half of last season did, a number of draws in which the defence was stabilised were followed by a purple patch of wins very nearly resulting in the play-offs. This time he has longer to achieve the same outcome or better. The next few games will determine whether history is about to repeat itself.
I think it could go either way but right now I wouldn't bet against a steady rise up the table starting in late November. No improvement before the January window and he is dead meat.

Re: The Duggie Poll
His preferred tactics do seem to lend themselves more to away games, where there's also generally more positive support. And in that sentence lie two Freedman weaknesses: firstly, lack of flexibility; secondly, lack of fun at home. It would really help his cause (and ours) if some more away wins made the table and atmosphere a bit better.
