Our strongest possible team

So if you could pick our team with all players in their best form and 100% fit (I know it's a ridiculous concept but just go with it), who would you pick? I'd probably go -

Is the jury on Bogdan not even further out just now? I'd be pretty miffed if I was AL and Ginger just walked straight back in. (or is that really a separate debate from Wrighty's thread?)

Bruce, a few people I go the odd game with were all on the train coming back from Watford on Saturday. One of them spoke to Lonergan who commented (and I quote): "He's just gonna fvckin' bomb me as soon as Adam's fit, I know it".
"I've got the ball now. It's a bit worn, but I've got it"

Is Eagles a fitness/form thing, or is it not doing what the manager wants? That seems to me to be the whole point of Dougie, he's got this system and if someone can't/won't do their job within the system he'll get someone else in there who can... or at least will have a go.
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

My personal opinion is that I'd rather have Lonergan playing... I only put Bogdan in because in the stipulations for this thread I stated 100% fitness and on top form (pretty much so that I was allowed to still put Holden and Chungy in haha). On top form I'd take Bogdan, but 9 times out of 10 I'd have Lonergan purely because I feel a lot safer with him between the sticks

Lonergan will always be my preferred choice over Bogdan. Bogdan has had good games here and there and pulled off the odd world class save. For me though, its no good if he is not giving defenders confidence and cant be a complete goalkeeper. There are to many faults in his overall game.

Id actually be happy to sell him.

It's a bit like a " Dear Santa" letter. Don't think we'll be seeing Mark Davies and Holden for a while and their current abilities will have to be proven when they finally get back. There'd also be a few unhappy lads around like Dans, Baptiste, Moritz, N'gog, Hall, Pratley etc, etc. And now we have the latest new wonderboy to add to the list.

See, we could get Al Habsi back then !!

Agree on most of it although I'd have Lonergan in for Bogdan. I don't think Holden will ever recover his top form so I'm gonna judge him on what I saw last season in which case I'd have Danns there. Also really is a toss up between Moritz and Sparky for me at this point but I'll make a call....

I'm gonna go: Lonergan, Mcnaughton, Ream, Mills, Tierney, Chungy, Spearing, Danns, M.Davies, Eagles, Beckford

Subs: Bogdan, Baptiste, Knight, Moritz, Pratley, Hall, Mason.

N'gog in when Mason goes. Unlucky to miss the bench despite being for the most part shite....

Beginning to wonder if M Davies might be asked to play deeper than the No.10 role, which seems to be the only place Moritz makes sense

You wouldn't want Mave in "defensive" midfield for the hardest away trips, but he's a busy lad and we need someone behind the front four who can pass

That'd be why DF has largely abandoned playing Spearing and Medo together

Yeah I think he is seen as more of an 8 than a 10. Was utterly fabulous there in the Jiminho LSL game in charge.
