According to google and some foreign news- http://www.onlinesport.ro/fotbal/liga-1 ... id-104514/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - Stefan Popescu is now a Bolton Wanderers player?
Was he already? Did I miss this one?
Remember the rumour but don't know if we actually went ahead with it?
Anyway, If you type him in on google, His profile on the right says we are his current club.

Re: PLYMOUTH'S stupendously all singing dancing transfer thr
Did ok in the U21s last Monday night, and he is a left back, Kellet moved into midfield. Popescu is certainly one who on the evidence last week, is not afraid to get stuck in so could be a useful addition. He also showed a good turn of pace and a good range of passing, although he needs to cut out the fancy stuff when under pressure. Perhaps he was just trying to impress and win a contract. Looks like he succeeded.IggyTheDawgster wrote:According to google and some foreign news- http://www.onlinesport.ro/fotbal/liga-1 ... id-104514/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - Stefan Popescu is now a Bolton Wanderers player?

Veteran centre half Paddy mcCarthy might be worth taking on if Dawson doesn't happen.Riviman wrote:http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/ ... ms-3106579

Quote from Craig Davies after his Preston debut:
“In December I had a chat with the Bolton manager and he said I might need to go out on loan to play games because I had been injured for about three months.
“But then I played for 90 minutes in the FA Cup against Cardiff and played again at QPR last Tuesday night.
“I thought to myself then that I had claimed a stake in the team, but last Wednesday I found out differently. For three months I was sat in the physio room going out of my head, so the last thing I wanted to do after starting two games was to go back to the bench.
“I think I’m better than that, I know I’m better than that and I have told him (Freedman) that I’m better than that.
“I want to show everyone that I can still do what I was doing at Barnsley before the move to Bolton. Now I’m just concentrating on doing well here for the next few months. I have got another year left at Bolton after this and plan to go back in the summer, but things change in football. One minute you are one place, the next minute you are somewhere else.
“That was proved in the last few days – I played for Bolton against QPR, then suddenly I was in the Preston team playing Notts County.
“That’s football and is why we love it.”

sounds more like a falling out which Duggie couldn't handle rather than a move for financial reasonsDr Hotdog wrote:Quote from Craig Davies after his Preston debut:

... also sounds like he regrets the move out of Barnsley, given what turned out. Reading between the lines I wonder if he means he'll be back once DF has exited.
Yes, I know, wishful reading.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

The left back Razvan Rat has been released by West Ham. Surely worth a punt if his wages aren't too silly?

I have heard that he is unclean
Re: PLYMOUTH'S stupendously all singing dancing transfer thr
The left-back, who captains his national side and has 88 caps, is to sign a three-year contract at Upton Park worth around £35,000 a week as Sam Allardyce, who intends to sign a new deal at the club himself, seeks to upgrade the playing staff in order to establish West Ham firmly in the top flight.
Unrealistic!

Like for like replacement for N'Gog on the wage bill then.Dr Hotdog wrote:The left-back, who captains his national side and has 88 caps, is to sign a three-year contract at Upton Park worth around £35,000 a week as Sam Allardyce, who intends to sign a new deal at the club himself, seeks to upgrade the playing staff in order to establish West Ham firmly in the top flight.

Re: PLYMOUTH'S stupendously all singing dancing transfer thr
Our manager now only signs promising youngsters who will one day lead us to European Glory, and a huge transfer fee, thus laying waste to our debt in one fell swoop.
That and loads of loanees and journeymen who seem to come and go with alarming regularity. To match our revolving door selection policy. But we don't talk about them. Its all about the kidz.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

Didn't realise he was on such high wages at West Ham. Our side is crying out for a leader though, as well as a left back. With him being the captain of his international side I think he'd fit the bill but with those wages I accept it's an unrealistic target.
Saw he was a free agent on here:

Probably all out of our price range though... the only other I thought would be Bramble - I'd have him over Knight.

Go and stand in the corner right this second!!

Offer him 5k a week, and an unlimited supply of smelly cheese and let him put himself in the shop window.

I would have the whole lot cannot possibly be any worse than what we have may be out of our current budget though!!jjpp wrote:Didn't realise he was on such high wages at West Ham. I was thinking that; we used to sign a player, then id read up all about him, learn his history, and follow his progress. nowadays players are spinning in & out of the club so fast its impossible to keep track.Lord Kangana wrote:Our manager now only signs promising youngsters who will one day lead us to European Glory, and a huge transfer fee, thus laying waste to our debt in one fell swoop.
