How much did Jutkiewicz cost Boro? Less than £1.5M.

And you find me one sane Bolton fan in that stadium today who wouldn't have swapped Ngog and Sordell for Jutkiewicz and paid the bloody taxi fees.

I agree that Juke is a massive reason for our current upturn in performances. He makes the ball stick up the top end of the field instead of the ball constantly going back towards the midfield all the time. Spearing and Medo both getting on the score sheet today showed that. They have more confidence to push on knowing that the ball will stay up field.

The difference is the quality of the front two. Clearly. We didn't have that earlier in the season. The key is Jutkiewicz. Take him out and we are a different team.
Jutkiewicz makes a difference to the quality up front but he doesn't help the way the team passes, the added protection in midfield, the link up between defence and midfield, the structure of our attacks...and so on. He's an individual but he isn't the reason for the turnaround in the way we play as a team - we play terrible football when we use 4-5-1 and our all round performances are much better with a simple 4-4-2. To put the results in the past two games down to him is quite odd because it's clearly untrue. If Jutkiewicz was the difference, then he'd have improved results as a lone striker, which he clearly didn't do.

I like him but lets be realistic with the praise.

We aren't playing a 'simple 4-4-2'. The reason we look better is we can play it up to the front two and they make it stick and make things happen, but not because there is a magical number up front but because of how they play and work. We played a front two away at Blackburn. Remind me of the score there?

I am struggling to understand the point you are making apart from that you wanted a manger to fail.

Did you really want that manager to fail?

Yes, the strikers are doing their job but pinning that turnaround on Jutkiewicz is absurd. He does his job, he doesn't influence how the rest of the team play. The system would work, as it did last season, with two separate strikers in the side.

To be fair what is happening, I think, is that Lukas and Mason are actually making the ball stick. So it's not simply being picked up second phase by the opposition. That allows the midfield to come up and join in with less fear that they'll be turned over and out of position.

It develops confidence and allows more adventurous play to develop.

Or maybe I'm just blowing it outta my ass.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Aye, under "rest of the Championship" after important games like Millwall, and Yeovil. Goals looked pretty good.

After beating Watford most of you will go into next Saturday with some confidence, take my advice don't. Blackburn were nothing short of brilliant yesterday, they turned up at Reading played 4-4-2 with lots of young English players and really got in Reading's faces, TBH Reading looked nothing short of petrified of them. They constantly looked to attack and their wingers were opening Reading up time and time again. I may well do A preview unless Tango says otherwise but please head my warning and expect for us to be easily beaten on Saturday.

The highlights didn't show bogdans class save in the first half when our defence was all over everywhere and the dingle did a looping shot from the left side.

Where I was sat, along with others saying so it was goal bound.

The game was one of those performances that you remember.

Pity. It was a very good save, I think still at 0-0, as was the one when Knight back headed it straight through to Rhodes, in on goal.
