He is only 21, so could be worth looking at. Seems to have raw talent and blessed with a lot of speed. Far from the finished article from what I saw on the clip. Can we sell on for a huge profit in the future after we develop him is the real question. A good time for a trial. who knows what we may have on our hands. Hope we have a few more like him with the squuad in Denmark that we are taking a look at so that we can reverse the trend of making a loss on our players.

Big Sam used to get loads of triallists, can't see why this is any different than that for a tour overseas
Pfffft.
Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
It says on his Wiki page that he has been released from his current contract due to "personal issues".
It looks like those personal reasons are that he wasn't good enough to get in their first team.

Do not trust atoms. They make up everything.

With our track record he'd end up at Accrington Stanley, on the bench!irie Cee Bee wrote:He is only 21, so could be worth looking at. Seems to have raw talent and blessed with a lot of speed. Burnley in for the Juke according to reports this morning. Bolton News seem pretty convinced they have agreed a £1.5M deal. Which is a bit of a bummer if true.
I guess not an awful lot we can do about it in our position.

What is it with teams in Claret and Blue buying our current / past/ future players?

We used to buy from them, now they buy from us. Cycle of football I guess......Gary the Enfield wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote:Burnley in for the Juke according to reports this morning. Bolton News seem pretty convinced they have agreed a £1.5M deal. Which is a bit of a bummer if true.

You'd have to be quite naive to have thought he was coming back here - Craig Dawson was the lesson to look at in that regard.

Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
Well we'll see. I'm a little surprised a premiership club is in for him as I think even with his good efforts here last season he's a way to go to showing the form that would lead to a premiership move. But who knows? There are conflicting reports over whether Burnley are indeed interested or not....Puskas wrote:Hardly unexpected, is it?BWFC_Insane wrote:We used to buy from them, now they buy from us. I think we'd have had a decent enough chance of getting him were no premiership clubs in for him, because Iles reckons he wants to come here and that we could afford him within FFP if we wanted to....

^^ Burnley are looking to do no more than survive, on the cheap. If they can it's a good exercise in solvent football. Even if they don't, parachute money is huge. So the Juke may suit them. However, I would think he'd be a bit stretched at Premiership level. If he does get that offer though who'd blame him.
I get/got the impression he fancied returning here, or he'd have signed elsewhere by now. Our foot dragging so far has, in my view, been done with his full knowledge and approval. However, if Premier clubs, even marginal ones, come knocking then we may just have been caught with our kecks down.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
We _may_ (I have no idea) be his preferred Championship destination - however, if we're not prepared to match Boro's asking price, and other clubs are, the point is irrelevant.
Unless anyone thinks he'll turn down other clubs offering him what he wants in wages, and first team football, in the hope that Boro will relent and accept our minimal bid. Personally, I think that's unlikely...

Am I wrong in thinking we could have had him sown earlier up for 1 million?

Aye, this. Marc Iles is saying that any move for him is entirely down to Eddie and Phil now, but that he would at £1.5M fit within our FFP restrictions. Which is I guess good.bobo the clown wrote:^^ Burnley are looking to do no more than survive, on the cheap. If they can it's a good exercise in solvent football. I think we are playing the waiting game for his price to drop, which is risky as stated above. I also think the point Nixon keeps making is that there are so many championship clubs after Juke because there isn't a real alternative around. There seems to be a shortage of strikers in general. Who knows what we'd do if Juke doesn't sign but presumably we'd have to find someone from somewhere because as it stands we have a severe lack of both strikers and goal potential.
Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
According to an Ex colleague of mine in Burnley who claims to be itk, they still have a 15k wage cap at Burnley which they are not prepared to break. Wages therefore shouldn't be a problem. It's down to the fee and Eddie's pockets.

What's our cap? That sounds like a huge amout of money for a Championship club like us to be paying anyone. Surely we couldn't afford that.Bijou Bob wrote:According to an Ex colleague of mine in Burnley who claims to be itk, they still have a 15k wage cap at Burnley which they are not prepared to break. Of course we can't *afford* to pay that...

The Juke thing could just be Middlesbrough and Agent talk of course.
Regarding other available players the 'who's available' step after this is when Premiership clubs declare their 25 man squads and people then see who's left without even the possibility of a game.

I'm sure the Juke wasn't the only striker, we had on are wish list. I'd be happy to take a chance on an unknown, like the guy who's on trial
