My thoughts too.Bruce Rioja wrote:I'll go with somebody's testimonial.
That sure looks like Charlton. Top left looks like Armfield and top right, the one which looks whatever a 1950's version of photo-shopping was, has a look of Jimmy Greaves. The goalie is clearly not Hopkinson, who it would have been in that era.
AND THEY HAVE ELEPHANTS !!!
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Trotters pics
Second from the right is Bolton's Ray Parry who played for England in 1960. Apart from Hopky, the England keepers at that time were Ron Springett and Gordon West. (edit. found another keeper,Bruce Rioja wrote:Can anyone name the players though? I only recognise Charlton and Armfield.
Alan Hodgkinson)

Brilliant. Thanks, Riviman. Though I must confess that there are quite a few names up there that I don't recognise, to match the faces.Riviman wrote:Back row Armfield, Slater, Flowers, Springett, Parry, WilsonBruce Rioja wrote:Can anyone name the players though? Re: Trotters pics
Aye, lots in there bring back memories. Steve Taylor I'd almost forgotten about. Graham Stanley played left half and lived in the street below St Josephs school. I often saw him getting the 24 bus from Halliwell to Orlando Bridge with his bag and walking down to Burnden puffing on a Castella cigar just like a big-time footballer would..clapton is god wrote:John Byrom in there did the half time draw on Friday.TANGODANCER wrote:Chanced on this.
