Re: Mavies
Very relevant point. Any of our players who were consistently outstanding would be targeted by clubs with more money and we'd probably have no option but to sell. I see a few tough seasons ahead before that can change that, with winning the fans back Item One.EverSoYouri wrote:
There is another aspect to the argument, however, if Mavies were delivering consistently, he wouldn't be Mavies of BWFC, he'd be at Chelsea or Liverpool or some such. (Same was true of Eagles...and the rest). He's game-changer on his day (but you wouldn't want to bet your house on him having all that many 'days' in a season...even if he stays fit).

Fully expected to see it collapse to the floor halfway through like when the ball hit's a TV camera.

no wonder were in the position we in
after only 2.06 minutes of the training session the players were so knackered they needed a drink

Re: Mavies
OfficialBWFC just tweeted the teamsheet:
Lonergan, Mills, Dervite, Ream, Vela, Danns, Feeney, Mavies, Pratley, Chungy, Cravies.
Make an XI outta that. Who's RB? Vela?

Anyway, isn't this the Mavies thread?
Why are we defacing it by talking about Pratters?! And all those others??

Hope not. I didn't think so at the time. It seemed like the right sub to make at the time as he wasn't having a particularly good game and Spearing coming on tightened things up a bitofficer_dibble wrote:Injured again tonight?

Just my little joke portraying DF as an alike tramp (or hobo!). Had to think of something cheap and nasty. Yuk.

Re: Mavies
Never thought he'd make it as a proper centre mid. Passing, tackling, tracking back, harrying...great game last night.

Very real comparison with Paul Scholes at his best (with a bit better tackling)Peter Thompson wrote:officer_dibble wrote:Never thought he'd make it as a proper centre mid. Passing, tackling, tracking back, harrying...great game last night.

Re: Mavies
Have they put something in the water, in Bolton? He was nearly anonymous first half (and that first 10/15 mins, totally so). Not just him of course, Clayton looked lost and Feeney could have sat in a deckchair. When we went at them second half, he was excellent.
