So did you get one of those Jubilee mugs? If not, you missed out. I saw one on Antiques Roadshow the other day and it was valued at a cool £3.50.Bruce Rioja wrote:I left primary school and went to big school in 1977.Burnden Paddock wrote:I was a cool 9 year old selected to dance around the Maypole at Castle Hill CP for the Queen's Silver Jubilee. The year I went to big school Britney Spears released her debut album and "I'm Blue (da ba dee)" was one of the biggest hits; you got '77!Bruce Rioja wrote:I left primary school and went to big school in 1977.Burnden Paddock wrote:I was a cool 9 year old selected to dance around the Maypole at Castle Hill CP for the Queen's Silver Jubilee. The question is - are you old enough to drink? If you were alive in '77, then you're welcome to join the oldies for a pint of mild in the snug.jetsetwilly wrote:So is there an away pub or not?

Yes but 1977 had two number ones by David Soul. Other number ones were by Leo Sayer, Brotherhood of Man and Mull of Kintyre by Wings which was at the top of the charts for 9 weeks .Prufrock wrote:The year I went to big school Britney Spears released her debut album and "I'm Blue (da ba dee)" was one of the biggest hits; you got '77!Bruce Rioja wrote:I left primary school and went to big school in 1977.Burnden Paddock wrote:I was a cool 9 year old selected to dance around the Maypole at Castle Hill CP for the Queen's Silver Jubilee. 1977 was not a great year for music. Lets face it this was probably the golden age of punk.
Hijack over.

Went on the train ... me getting on at Blackrod. Got merrily pissed in Yates, drank draught champagne (I shit you not) from big wooden vats behind the bar. Walked down to the ground and got in late as we only left Yates's at Central around 10 to 3.
It was fckg packed. Could barely move. At one stage someone decided they'd never squeeze through to the bogs so pissed where they were .... down by brand new Levi's. Queue me getting into some verbals ... never great with a guy with his knob in his hand at the time. His mate gave me some back, my mates joined in and soon there was a scrap in our own end. Police waded in and man with knob still hanging out & a couple of mates were hoiked out. They were only ejected, not arrested and as we left they were standing looking for us .... we gave them the slip.
If any of or mid-aged people recognise themselves in this then
aka Australian sweet white wine into which they'd dropped half a dozen tabs of Steradent to give it sparkle...

↑↑↑↑ How very dare you.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
