Things look good, and I hope they believe they CAN do it, but it's still a v v v long shot.
I hope they at least talk to Chungy; he's been here a long time now, and finally looking back to his best under a manager who clearly rates him there's a chance he might want to stay. If not, I think we've got to look at the cash. Can we do more for a tilt at a full season next year with the cash than we do for a one-off this year?

Keep him by hook or by crook. If he fvcks off for free it's not your cash so don't cry about it.
We'll never see the money he'd bring in anyway.

Re: Rumour has it.............
Heskey: the BN has run it at arm's length (doing the old thing of publishing a rumour and adding "the Bolton News understands... several reports this evening claim" etc).
I'm not against the idea ethically if he (like Eidur) proves in training that he can cause defences a problem. He wouldn't be the first apparently washed-up has-been we'd been pleased to employ.
Of course, if this were Freedman employing an old team-mate who's 37 next month, we'd all be a lot more indignant - but then that's what happens when you lose more than you win, etc. And if they turn out to be good at their job (like, say, Bruce Rioch's Millwall mates Branagan and McGinlay), nobody cares much anyway: that's the difference between networking and nepotism.
But just in case Lennon hires some muckers from his Celtic days, can I be the first to say "jobs for the old Bhoys"?

If it were up to me of course I'd keep him. But the issue wasn't what any of us would do but what we think the club are likely to do . They're not likely to think "f*ck it, it's only money".boltonboris wrote:Prufrock wrote:I don't think we'll be able to make decisions in Jan on the basis that we're planning to go up. Re: Rumour has it.............
Eidur definitely looks like a done deal...NL thinks its done in this interview
Also, with regards to Emile Heskey as with Eidur if NL thinks he can do a short term job then you have got to back the manager, none of us know what condition he's in or whether he can still do a job at championship level (perhaps he can). ..only the manager and his staff can know this.

Hats off to TKIZ and Tango for graphics contributions.
Heskey might not set the pulse racing, but I'm with those who say, if NL reckons he can do a short-term job, let's give him a chance.
btw spellcheck keeps changing Heskey to Husky.
