Re: The Joy of (Twenty-)Sixth? Rovers / Boxing Day
What a season this is turning out to be. If someone had told me in August that we'd beat Blackburn on Boxing day with Heskey getting a goal and an assist and Gudjohnsen getting an assist I'd have thought they were mad.

Well, we blew the longest clean sheet streak but I'll take the win! Still over the 2 of 3 possible points pace.

Unbelievable. Heskey on debut, who would have thought.

A win in our next game and we could move up to 9th. I'm delighted with how things are going at the moment, though gutted I couldn't be at the Macron today! Sounded like a great match.

Excellent, and from what sounds like a great game to watch as well.
Good result, good form, nice playing style and some way to go.
Why, oh why did we tolerate the previous tosspot for so long ?

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Could do with Wolves beating Watford later though or a draw.CrazyHorse wrote:14th. Nipping the heels of Wolves. Can't wait for Sunday.

Hate to remind you that he had a similarly good run at the beginning...bobo the clown wrote:Excellent, and from what sounds like a great game to watch as well.

it just doesn't get any better than that - having been 1 down at HT only serves to make victory taste even better!!!

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.freeindeed wrote:from a bloke on the Blackburn forum re Emile & Eidur:
Apparently Heskey has an excellent scoring record against them so they're all bricking it..Agree totally mate...I've seen both of them in the last couple of weeks playing for notlob u21 in Leyland and both of them are unfit, eidur looks a bit overweight and they both have limited mobility even at that level. Our defence should be shot if either of these two scores.

Very entertaining game in front of a good crowd, could easily have finished 4-4.
End to end, chances at both ends throughout, we started poorly but improved as we always do after half time. I thought Heskey was excellent a real handful but he was absolutely knackered at the end, Eidur was quiet 1st half but played well 2nd half....Pratley probably MOM, Vela also played well....Defence was shaky IMO
But a great win, its always good to beat Blackburn I can't stand them.
The more games Eidur & Heskey play the fitter & better they will be - they linked up well together 2nd half, Heskey is an absolute beast, a real handful for the centre backs.
