Throw-ins!!!
Has anybody else noticed how shite we are at throw-ins? Especially Ream. I don't think I've ever seen a team as poor as us at taking throw-ins. We used to be great with JJ and Nolan, but now we almost always throw it directly to the opposition. There is also a distinct lack of movement from the players to get the ball when we have a throw-in, its feckin bizarre and annoying.

think his team mates are taking the p out of him. Mind you I bet most of the 5 mins added time against wolves was due to mr ream stood on the touchline with the ball above his head
not sure why our long throws of old were much better. I remember getting very bored with the set routine, when opportunities for quick throws were ignored whilst everyone got into place for the long one

I've noticed this with Ream. He seems to take an age with each throw in, looking at each team mate in turn.
What I've also noticed is the number of foul throws committed by teams across all four divisions, that generally go unchecked. When did refs stop blowing up for it?

I think he's completely uncomfortable taking them but surely it should be worked on in training.Burnden Paddock wrote:I've noticed this with Ream. He seems to take an age with each throw in, looking at each team mate in turn.

Also noticed the foul throws, Fulham did at least two that I recall on Tuesday.

Think I've seen two given this season (one for and one against). Reminds me a little of the Keepers' "steps" rule, which widely used to be ignored, before finally being done away with...Maybe there'll be a "chuck it in the field of play, any old way" rule, coming soon!wigan white wrote:I think he's completely uncomfortable taking them but surely it should be worked on in training.Burnden Paddock wrote:I've noticed this with Ream. I agree, I think refs are too busy looking for more serious infringements and rely on the lino's to look for the petty stuff but unfortunately in this day and age, the lino's only give what the ref tells them to give (read this in a book by Greame Poll ), so minor infringements go unnoticed.Worthy4England wrote:Think I've seen two given this season (one for and one against). Still no excuse for not being able to take a throw - in.

Re: Throw-ins!!!
Trying to remember who took a throw in twice not too long ago, because the ball never went on the field first time. Might have been Ream?

Re: Throw-ins!!!
I think it's Feeney who has a deceptively long throw. Might be worth looking at when C.Davies or Keskey are back in action and we're far enough up the field...!

Throw-ins are the least of our concerns when it comes to Tim 'Two Goals' Ream

Surely you're not referring to our "Player of the Season" from last year? Whatever next - you'll be suggesting we don't send Clough back to the stiffs when Craig Davies is fit...boltonboris wrote:Throw-ins are the least of our concerns when it comes to Tim 'Two Goals' Ream

Reeeam - very good & composed on the ball, but not aggressive and competitive enough for me as a defenderboltonboris wrote:Throw-ins are the least of our concerns when it comes to Tim 'Two Goals' Ream

He's a disaster when he has to defend, which is worrying as he is a defender. Too piss weak and mentally frail to play in midfield.

Good at doing drag backs and cruyff turns though... Thumbs up for that

I agree with your comments about his defensive ability - he's pretty gash.

Re: Throw-ins!!!
I think Zach Clough should stuff the ball up his jersey and let Tim Ream throw him into play. At least we'd have a Bolton player with the ball.
