My gut is there is a falling out behind this, not fitness issues. Kevs been in recent training videos. Same with a few others as well, spearing for one. No issue with that but he's got to replace like for like in the summer. Can't just sign another 642 creative midfielders.
Haven't we signed a Portuguese Right-back on a pre-contract for next season - Paulinho iirc.
hmmm - good memory!

there WAS this post by Sponge:
Not January, but according to Sky:

"Bolton will snap up Dutch centre-back Nick Kuipers & Portuguese right-back Paulinho in a double deal this summer. (The Sun)"
did it actually happen?
I think NL said in the BEN that he'd already got deals in place for Paulinho, Kuipers and that Irish striker from Warrenpoint. So I'm taking that as gospel.

I suppose the other thing with mcnaughton is perhaps he's not lennon's type of full back . Freedman wanted fullbacks who tended to hold their position whereas Lennon likes them getting forward in tandem with the winger . Nears may have been more of a lennon FB than mcnaughton .

Well, he's on the bench today, with Slavchev (and for that matter Twardzik) notable by absence

Today's other four loanees are Amos, ALF and Bannan in the first XI, Janko on the bench

From this morning's press conference -

@OfficialBWFC: NL: Being able to bring Kevin McNaughton back into the fold was a big boost for us - he was brilliant when he came on at the weekend.
