Student Questionnaire
As a Student Leeds Beckett University, i am currently doing a research study into the motivations of football fans to attend live matches and whether the price of ticket influences their decision to attend. I would appreciate it greatly if as many of you as possible click on the link and carry out the questionnaire. The data will be analysed and used in a case study for my dissertation. Thank you.

Re: Student Questionnaire
not to diss or disparage you at all mr/mrs/miss/ms/master beckett, but we get quite a lot of these...
is it really an accepted research method to have questionnaires filled in by people off football foums? how is the value of the information these online forum questionnaires assessed against actual face-to-face interviews in a properly controlled environment?
I guess it must be - but it amazes me how many we get...

Re: Student Questionnaire
Can you not all club together on some website and pool your answers?

Re: Student Questionnaire
See, when I were a young lad and wanted to do a football survey I had to write to a Mr Phil Neal and ask to attend a training session. had to find a pen, write a legible letter on some Basildon Bond, raid the bureau for an envelope and buy a stamp. I then invested some pocket money on a clipboard and some paper for the answers and got the 524 to Burnden. I remember Julian Darby being most helpful and Phil Neal was really good spending time with me. I recall getting a satisfactory 80 something percent grade, so all in all a great day and worth the effort. These days it seems a couple of sentences on a random forum and a spreadsheet is progress
Might I suggest getting outside a ground on match day with a clipboard and engage with folk? I'm sure you'd get better quality content for your dissertation.

Given the number we've had about this very topic, I'd already be marking it down as a Desmond or a Richard, unless it showed some startling new conclusions.

I'm just pleased we are running so many such deep and meaningful courses at our converted Kwik-Save Uni's.
Otherwise we'd simply have a stream of medics and engineers and scientists and future business managers pouring out and who'd want them on the dole. At least this way I can legitimately say I don't give a shite.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Student Questionnaire
The likes of Monty, Dujon and myself ( there will be others) tend to get targeted as dinosaurs. Regardless, it's a fact that back in the pen and ink era of our younger years, if we wanted to research anything, the only options were to buy books or go to the reference section of the local library (if indeed they had anything on the topic you wanted). Time marches on...

Christ, maybe if he'd done his questionnaire on to what extent old farts think this country's education system has gone to shit, he'd have got a better response.
It takes about two minutes to fill it out.
