Possibles in the new window are Leo Fasan and Jackson Irvine.
Re: Bijou Bob's Bargain Basement Buys - Jan transfer thread
Two ex-Celtic players, one of whom is a goalkeeper. I've got my fingers crossed this is lazy journalism rather than a sign that we are not in for Amos in the summer.jaffka wrote:Possibles in the new window are Leo Fasan and Jackson Irvine.

Great news that Zat is going to a team playing in an FA Cup semi final at Wemberly. Can't beat some experience on an occasion like that.

Can't imagine Steve Clarke picking a midfield four containing two wingers and a striker...Worthy4England wrote:Great news that Zat is going to a team playing in an FA Cup semi final at Wemberly. Can't beat some experience on an occasion like that.

Ooh, we've signed another midfielder: Liverpool's 20-y-o Jordan Lussey, "a highly-rated central midfielder with a sublime range of passing" who has been in the Anfield Academy since the age of 9.

One (more) for the future, surely?

Somebody else wrote:Captain of Liverpool’s U18s, Jordan Lussey’s development has been hampered by injuries in the last few years. Regardless, the promising central midfielder has an extensive passing range and has been likened to Steven Gerrard as a result of his ethic and long-range goals.
Though player comparisons are dangerous territory in football, the eighteen-year-old’s attitude has not gone unnoticed at Anfield as he was promoted to the U21 squad last season. It may still be too early for Lussey to make his debut, especially given the reduced number of fixtures Liverpool will play compared to last year, but it is fair to say Liverpool have a promising youngster on their hands.
Ormskirk-born midfielder Jordan Lussey is currently one of the brightest prospects at the Liverpool Academy. The eighteen year old was made captain of the Liverpool Under-18s by coach Mike Marsh at the end of the 2011/12 season after some very impressive displays. In his first season with the Under-18s, Lussey scored 9 goals in 27 appearances.
Lussey’s brand of football is comparable to that of his hero, current Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard; he enjoys getting forward in an attempt to score goals, but is equally reliable in the defensive third. With hard work and dedication, Jordan Lussey may one day stake a claim for the Liverpool captain’s armband himself.

Why....and what's the point of signing another midfield player on loan, we need to build for next season therefore unless we can sign him permanent in the summer then IMO its just plain crazyDave Sutton's barnet wrote:Ooh, we've signed another midfielder: Liverpool's 20-y-o Jordan Lussey, "a highly-rated central midfielder with a sublime range of passing" who has been in the Anfield Academy since the age of 9.

Swap deal for Vela. You heard it here first (the rumour, that is).
It is described as a "youth loan" but that's just because he's under 21. IMO there's no harm in looking at him for the rest of the season. I haven't been able to find out when his contract ends but it may even be this summer and from some reports it seems like he's struggled to kick on in the U21s/Development squad after his youthful promise. A move might do him good, and I'm happy for us to look at him.

Max Clayton has rather charmingly tweeted "Welcome Jordan Lussey to the BWFC family". The two played together for England U18s a couple of times: on 15 Nov 2011 against Slovakia (Max played the first half, Lussey the second); on on 7 Mar 2012 they both started, with Max assisting England's first two goals in a 3-0 win.
So that's all good.

Rob Hall out! Needs to pull his finger out and start working for the team. If he doesn't he will be permanently going.
Re: Bijou Bob's Bargain Basement Buys - Jan transfer thread
That's a decent move for hall . Hope he gets regular games there . This Liverpool lad , well the only point is if we may be able to keep him.not short of midfield options now but it is funny seeing so many in the squad after Lennon came in and moaned about having too many when he arrived .

Re: Bijou Bob's Bargain Basement Buys - Jan transfer thread
Sounds like Luke woodland had a good game for Oldham this week . Hopefully they are keeping a close eye on how he's getting on given his contract is up . Don't know how to post links on a phone but there are a couple of interesting pieces in the Ben about lennon's thoughts on squad building . They're thinking of relaying the training ground . He me ruins a number of players who appears keen to keep and talks about bringing in more durable players plus he talks about character . Reading between the lines might be that cravies will be on his way . There is talk of eidur staying on though if he wants to.
