Please let that be the case. Couldn't write this, the last few years, especially past few months have been shambles after shambles.

There may well be legal reasons for not making statements during an ongoing enquiry. The club might have put ban on it. Right now nothing but gossip and specualation.

Shame - That's exactly what they were like at the Town Hall gig. I attributed it to me getting on a bit. :D

I suspect much might depend on what the new owners were wanting to do once the takeover is complete. If they were minded to bring their own man in, this is the perfect opportunity to get rid without paying up Lennon's contract. Pressure may well be brought to bear.

China Street - I remember them, they were a Lancaster band. I remember Eric Bell too. Saw him play and score for the Wanderers in the 1953 Cup Final. Different one? Ah well never mind.

Or has ever been. Tuneless as you like. Then Human League spawned Heaven 17 who actually somehow plumbed new depths by being even worse

You'll notice then that I had taste, even as a callow youth... the x's mark the one's I went to. You'll notice I forewent Human League and Adam and his Fxckin Ants (even though, then, they were proper punk).

Liverpool, nah. Manchester, nah. China Street is a street on Lancaster's one way system and the band of that name were part of the Lancaster music scene in the 1970s when Lancaster Uni was pulling in all the big acts of the day.

like I said it was 10 years ago. Charlie was 61 and was still going strong. Also played on bills with the likes of 999 and Billyclub.

I was much more robust in those days :D
