is that still the case with the FA cup? So many teams in all divisions seem to treat it with disdain these days, I'd be surprised if it's still a factor

According to the Socialist Rag we're in for snow this weekend (So we're probably not, like.)

it'll either be a demoralising defeat with our 'strongest' side or a rousing win with some of our fringe players / graduates who will subsequently be dropped again for our hammering at Sheff Wed which will ultimately be more demoralising than losing to Eastleigh with the 1st teamers.

You've fallen for that three divisional difference thingy. The soggy earthen lumps and dips will redistribute shots, passes and player's ankles in a more stochastic pattern than our Neil would allow for... 0-3 to them if we play the kiddies, a turgid 0-1 to them if we don't.
Ah no, I'm well aware it could go that way. If I don't have my blind optimism, I don't have much else at the moment. :hang:
I have no clue, optimistic yes, I know we will try the cricketers.

We'll lose and we'll be the laughing stock for the weekend. They'll lose in the next round and all will be forgotten.

Oh we're on some foreign telly channels so there is a good chance there will be an internet stream for those not attending.

NL won't take risks on team at Eastleigh. Picking most experienced 11. Given the way this season has gone, might be a risk in itself. #bwfc

Thunderstorms are expected in Eastleigh on Saturday, but they're putting the covers on on Friday so hopefully the game will definitely be on.

I hope it gets rained off and moved to mid-week so I can go.

"Most experienced" at what? Losing?

It'd be handy to have it today, for our fans' sake, but I think it'll be tomorrow morning. 9am or so. Not sure.

I heard they had covers on and an inspection for later today ? The coaches leave the macron at 7.30 in the morning ( and me ) so they need to make a decision today.

Just watched the local news. Eastleigh already talking about how they will feel if they beat us. Cheeky b*st*ards. The pitch is going to be very heavy indeed, so will affect our passing game  . They have borrowed a machine from Hampshire Cricket Club to aerate the pitch. Looks like a big tractor and puts thousands of small holes into the turf to allow water to soak away. We're due some more heavy rain overnight but at present there are no plans for a pitch inspection. Covers (lots of tarpaulins), are going back on overnight. Heavy rain and high winds forecast for tomorrow, so bring your mac & wellies!

You'd like to think so but every winter there are stories regarding supporters traveling the length of the country to find the game's off at half two.

I can only repeat for those who may have missed it.
At present there are no plans (or need) for a pitch inspection.
