The clock will start ticking 48 hours before we go into administration but we will not know it has started until the 48 hours is up. It ticks very quietly.thebish wrote:when did this 48hr clock actually start ticking? (or - when does it actually tick down to zero?)
presumably at that point, the news will start breaking in a spectacular fashion!
I hope that has explained it for you.

It's going to be like a Bond time frame. The first 47hrs will rush past but that last hour will last week's and the final few seconds ages and ages. It will all stop with a red digital timer showing '4' in the seconds space.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: The breaking News thread...
OK - I have researched it thoroughly! It was an Iles story in the BN - Monday 11th January... there is no time on the story - but the first comment was posted at 6:06am..
http://m.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/1419 ... /#comments
so the earliest start time for the clock is - for the sake of round numbers - 6am on 11th January.
48hrs on top of that would take us to 6am tomorrow morning.
however... Iles is not being terribly specific... he says that after this 48hrs we will TAKE STEPS TOWARDS administration - which is conveniently vague and non-commital and could mean lots of things!
so - way too early for panic! calm down!

Re: The breaking News thread...
To answer Bish's question, this little lot was posted earlier today. Read it and weep. And although I'm in charge of the calendar, and I'm neither Iles or Insano this is the TIMESCALE: we either do or don't go into voluntary Administration before 10:00am Monday 18th January
Lost Leopard Spot wrote:So you're saying the countdown to Administration only occurs with hindsight. After we've entered administration we can look back 48 hours and say that's when the countdown started. Brilliant.BWFC_Insane wrote:Breaking news is that the 48 hours till admin (24 now) isn't a thing right now as the player sales were required to pay the running costs during the admin period and haven't gone through yet.
I guess this is why we're looking at the property sale Nixon mentioned yesterday.
What I'm beginning to lose the thread on is, if we need around £2M to pay the tax man why would we go into admin ahead of the court date necessarily, rather than just pay the tax man?
I realise administration may well be the only option at some point but surely having HMRC off our backs would be beneficial?

No administration tomorrow tweets Iles.
Club playing games he suspects in relation to admin threat and player sales.

2 theories here, one is that they aren't going into admin because they need player sales to go through to pay the running costs during that period.
Other is that they are putting out messages of imminent admin and player sales to try and force a buyers hand.

But it's not like they are holding out for a higher price. I thought the issue was that the buyers didn't really have the necessary cash?BWFC_Insane wrote:Other is that they are putting out messages of imminent admin and player sales to try and force a buyers hand.

Re: The breaking News thread...
I just like the idea of Iles ringing up the club 'going into admin tomorrow' ? 'No Marc'; 'But I thought you were ?' 'Why who said that ?' 'Well I did'; Why did you say that ?' Well I thought you would be' 'Anyone at the club say it ?' 'Well no'; 'So why did you say it ?'; 'Well I'm a reporter'; 'Of what twitter bollox?; Any chance you can tell me when you are going into admin then ? 'Yes sure, we'll in touch'
We'll be in admin tomorrow
We'll be in admin tomorrow

3. a lot of it is simply shoite/click-bait put about to boost Iles's and Nixon's respective newspaper column click-stats and twitter-feed pages....BWFC_Insane wrote:Club are putting these messages out though.thebish wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote:No administration tomorrow tweets Iles.

Re: The breaking News thread...
Because if we go into admin everything is up for sale, and the purpose is to get as much money as quickly as possible to buy off the creditors. The things that are going to be sold are the things a buyer wants to buy, and the price you're going to get for them is going to be well below market value.

The likely sale of assets means a buyer might want to act quicker.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:You really don't get this do you?BWFC_Insane wrote:Club are putting these messages out though.thebish wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote:No administration tomorrow tweets Iles.

But that doesn't force a buyer's hand. That tells a buyer to sit on his fxcking hands until we go into administration.Prufrock wrote:Because if we go into admin everything is up for sale, and the purpose is to get as much money as quickly as possible to buy off the creditors.
