The clock will start ticking 48 hours before we go into administration but we will not know it has started until the 48 hours is up. It ticks very quietly.

OK - I have researched it thoroughly! It was an Iles story in the BN - Monday 11th January... there is no time on the story - but the first comment was posted at 6:06am..

so the earliest start time for the clock is - for the sake of round numbers - 6am on 11th January.

48hrs on top of that would take us to 6am tomorrow morning.

however... Iles is not being terribly specific... he says that after this 48hrs we will TAKE STEPS TOWARDS administration - which is conveniently vague and non-commital and could mean lots of things!

so - way too early for panic! calm down!

To answer Bish's question, this little lot was posted earlier today. Read it and weep. And although I'm in charge of the calendar, and I'm neither Iles or Insano this is the TIMESCALE: we either do or don't go into voluntary Administration before 10:00am Monday 18th January

Breaking news is that the 48 hours till admin (24 now) isn't a thing right now as the player sales were required to pay the running costs during the admin period and haven't gone through yet.

I guess this is why we're looking at the property sale Nixon mentioned yesterday.

What I'm beginning to lose the thread on is, if we need around £2M to pay the tax man why would we go into admin ahead of the court date necessarily, rather than just pay the tax man?

I realise administration may well be the only option at some point but surely having HMRC off our backs would be beneficial?

So you're saying the countdown to Administration only occurs with hindsight. After we've entered administration we can look back 48 hours and say that's when the countdown started. Brilliant.

Because if we go into admin everything is up for sale, and the purpose is to get as much money as quickly as possible to buy off the creditors. The things that are going to be sold are the things a buyer wants to buy, and the price you're going to get for them is going to be well below market value.

The likely sale of assets means a buyer might want to act quicker.

Because if we go into admin everything is up for sale, and the purpose is to get as much money as quickly as possible to buy off the creditors. The things that are going to be sold are the things a buyer wants to buy, and the price you're going to get for them is going to be well below market value.

But that doesn't force a buyer's hand. That tells a buyer to sit on his fxcking hands until we go into administration.
