BBCs saying Anelka will miss tonights match, has Chung-Yong Lee gone to the Asia cup yet?

Think we'll draw this one after taking the lead...somehow - 2-2.

Which is probably the reason Petrov didn't get a kick on Boxing Day. No point losing 2 players in one go!

Quite right. Am happy with him on one side and Taylor/Rodrigo on't'other

I'd be tempted to play Mavies on the right in this one. Keep it a little narrower and tighter against their midfield 3, maybe with Elmander drifting wide at times helping out to turn it into almost a 4-5-1. Not going to get much change out of Cole on that wing anyway. Just need to make sure someone is switched on tracking him. Their weakness is definitely right CB/RB and we need to target that.

Got a good feeling about this. We'll be in an incredible position if we do somehow get all 3.

I actually believe these rumours about players not being fit when they don't play. All too often they make last-minute, miracle recoveries. Time will undobtedly tell. Might be an idea to test out young Moreno for pace and trickery against Cole at some point; keep him penned back a bit. A lot depends on our ability to get ,and keep, the ball. A repeat of a Super Kev headed goal would be nice to add to an Elmander special and another good team goal with maybe a Petrov screamer finding the net. Hey, dreaming is allowed.

Totally agree with this. be interesting to see who he does go with as CYL has been one of our best players this season.

Taylor should stay on the left, he's earnt his place recently.

As for the right, I've a feeling Coyle will play Petrov there, and we'll get savaged down that side defensively until he takes him off.

As much as Petrov would hate it, why not play Elmander there with Kev and Klasnic up front.

The game calls for a 4-5-1 though, if we don't at least match their 3 in midfield they will just walk through us.

Any word on Steinsson's injury?

I'd play Taylor on the right.. Cole needs tracking.. Petrov isn't that man

Agreed, Petrov shouldn't start this one imho.

Aye - I would love to see M Davies start. Midfield is where we have to win this - we have to hustle for every ball. Can't drop Moo for this very reason so right wing is the only place we can fit MD in. However I suspect we will see Taylor and Petrov start with the usual suspects elsewhere with Ricketts at RB.

I am really looking forward to this one though. It's a long time since I have been to the bridge.

What about:

Jussi
Gretr(if fit), Cahill, Knight, Robbo
Elmo, Mavies, Muamba, Holden, Petrov
SKD

Obviosly when we don't have the ball and when we do have the ball Elmo can support SKD and Mavies can drift wide.

No no no. They are fragile and low in confidence. This is the new Bolton. We attack. We might lose 0-5, but we attack.

Score the first goal and they'll shit their pants.

My 11 to start would be :

(4-3-3)
Jussi
Ricketts*, Cahill, Knight, Robinson
Mark Davies, Muamba, Holden
Elmander, Kevin Davies, Taylor

*Steinsson if fit.

You'd start Taylor before Petrov?
